A little confused....

Hi all,
I bought this game Monday night for PS3, finished the training mission, got my new plane but am confused as to the next mission. Not sure what the mission is called but you start by patrolling the shore line then head off-shore to down a few planes then back to shore to defend the oil tankers.

What exactly is the mission? I understand defend the Oil but should I be going after just the planes that are marked? should I be just circling the oil?

its been 2 nights and and averaging 16 planes and still not passing this mission...any help would be appreciated!!

I'm afraid I've not played this game so I could be way off the mark in this suggestion but here goes...

Some games require you to create a new profile for game saves and do not do it automatically, when not done its impossible to move past the training missions because there is no profile save allowing the progression.

Could this be the case here?
