I picked up this game 2 days ago, all excited like everyone else, hoping to finally get a flight sim with the hopes of really geting into it, and what happens, my worst fear, it's screwed up, it really is a shame that Ubi would release a flight simulator with so many problems in the beginning, it should be against the law, almost everyone of the threads I've read are from people who have high end systems that should not be having any problems at all, video cards that are up to date, drivers up to date, descent sound cards, heck, it's not like this hardware just popped up in the last few months, they've been working on this sim for a while now, and for this to be a product of someone's hard work is unexceptable to us the consumer, and the sad part is you can't even get your money back. Anyway I just needed to vent, I'd been waiting for this game to come out for atleast a year....hope they fix this thing soon.

ebaydeals,
First off welcome. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now, try to calm down and follow me here. I have a P4 2 gig 9700pro based system here. I have no issues at all with LOMAC. This is true with quite a few others also. See what I'm getting at? All systems are different. It is quite hard to get a piece of software optimised to run no problems on all the different combos available in PC's not to mention home builts like mine. Please post your issues and let us the community try to help you along with the Devs and the producers. Swallow the frustration and get to posting and let's have a go at this http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Again,
Welcome to the forums!

What seems to be the norm with alot of the software Giants Including UBI.Instead of hiring inhouse testers or conducting a real beta test. They rely of webmaster's who are going to praise their product instead of actually testing the simulation out.
The real testing falls on the laps of those who go out and buy the game. Not those who got a free copy. Then we have to await for patch after patch to finally they get it right. And by that time a new simulation is out. And everyone has moved onto something else http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Erm.... maybe you should state what problems you actually have? Sounds a good place to start.

yes, complaining doesn't help, posting problems does.

post your system specs, a detailed explanation of the problem and your dxdiag is a great start.

Let's see... over the development of Lock On I have had it running great on the following systems:

P3 500 TNT2

P4 1.8 Gf3 Ti500

P4 1.8 GF4 Ti4600

P4 1.8 9700 pro

P4 3.0 9800 Pro

SB live/SB Audigy/Integrated 3D Max

512 RDRAM/768 RDRAM/1 Gig DDR

A Clean install of Win XP and up to date drivers at the Gold announcement is a must.

Hello and good day to you. I had to get another user name and password to post again, I'm not sure what happened with my initial log in info. The problem I'm having is similiar to others, low FPS, no sound at cetain portions of the flight, I can get the sim to fly but because of the low FPS it just takes the enjoyment away. My system lines up with there requirements and then some: K7400 motherboaed, AMD x2200 or 1800mhz cpu, mactor 200gb HD (fraged last night), 21" IBM monitor, Klipse 5.1 speakers, 512 333 DDR ram, Audigy Gamer 2 sound card, the latest Nvidia drivers (53.03), I changed my page file to 2gb after reading a thread here, I still get chopping and low FPS, I did think of reformating my hard drive and starting alll over from scratch since I have alot of stuff on my PC but decided not to because I have alot of important programs I can't reinstall....anyway thanks for the concern, I fell that I'll be waiting for a patch like most folks.

please post your dxdiag. Go to run and type dxdiag. Then save it as a txt file. Then post the whole text on the forum.

I take extreme exception to your comments. The beta test team worked our butts off, FOR FREE, for a long time. You have no clue what you are talking about sir! Your post has ZERO truth to it and you should be banned for making such ridiculous comments.

A clean install of XP is a must ? Seems a little extreme. If you ask me its not very realistic to expect a customer to do a fresh install of his/her operating system to play a game.Besides the fact a lot of people out there have no idea of how or what to do to accomplish this. Sorry your comment just didnt seem to sit right with me as being a consumer who has purchased this product.

well the company has no control over the condition of the computer/software that it is being installed on. Bad drivers, software, devices, spyware, viruses, etc all can effect other pieces of software. Since there is no way to assertain the condition a fresh install is the only realistic thing to suggest.

I can understand using a fresh install as a last ditch effort but to come out and say its a must to play this game? I udnerstand fully about not being able to control how people use their computers thus not being able to control the quality of their drivers as i use to repair pc's for a living. I was only trying to say that to come out and straight out say you must do a fresh install of XP is a bit extreme and wont sit well with most.

Now i've said it and i will let it be.

I agree...

I didn't say a "re-install", I said a clean install.

Right, Sir -

ebaydeals - who built that computer of yours?

I used to have the same kind of weird-*** problems with an AMD (athlonXP 2.2) chip an Nvidia videocard (asus gforce3).

Ditched them for a an intel 2.8 and a Radeon9700 Pro-

it could be faster but it runs great and gives me something to look forward to-

just my two cents:

555 TFS

mydogtubby, are the same person as ebaydeals? Because I have no idea what your problems are. Dxdiag is nice, but not have a detailed description of the problem or error messages doesn't help.

Hello "dayglow". I posted the Dxdiag text because I thought someone wanted me to post it, I do apologize because I really did not explain in detail the problem. I don't have as big a problem as many in this forum, however I do have a medium end system that exceeds there minimum requirements with adequate memory and a descent video card,
nvidia 5600fx / 256 mem
200 gig HD
KT7/333 MB
audigy gamer 2 sound card
21" monitor
latest drivers
I just get lousy FPS, and a few lock-ups here and there, I have not had any problems with any other sim or 1st person shooter I own, and many of them also require a demanding system to appreciate. UBI could not have done all they could to ensure customer satisfaction with these many problems as noted through this forum, if games were protected with a lemon law as cars are now, they would be giving back alot of money on this one. I just hope they don't hesitate to get a patch out ASAP so the sim community can really appreciate the talent and creativity that went into this project...any suggestions would be very much appreciated

Ok, the only thing I can suggest is get the latest 50 series dets for your FX card.

As for you disapointment, what are your fps like? ED has been very upfront that the graphics engine for LOMAC is very demanding and will tax any system with everything set to max detail. A few tweaks with the graphics settings can get decent fps and a good image quality with it.

Hey "dayglow". I do have the latest video drivers (53.03)
got them yesterday, I've defraged my HD and tweaked as much as I'm knowledgeable to do. I don't know how to update my bios and don't know how to find updated drivers for my mother board, I'm just not that experienced in doing some things....thanks for your eagerness to help others on this forum. oh by the way, I get around 10-18 fps with settings at low and 8-12 with medium settings.
