Everyone has different visual preferences when running a game.
some prefer higher res, some prefer higher AA, some want over 60 FPS, some just want all the effects on.

i was just wondering what is the graphical settings that will satisfy u enough so u wont be bothered by how the game looks and enjoy it's graphics?
answer in terms of resolution, AA and AF, effect settings, FPS.

for me as long as i can get the game running at 30FPS on 1440X900 with all effects on HIGHEST with NO AA and triliniar AF i am happy. that is enought for me.
i want all the effects the game can offer and this res is more than enough IMO. with crysis i settle for 1280X720 with everything on very high and get about 23-26 FPS but im still happy. in other games expect better than this.

what's your satisfaction point?

According to this recent e3 review: http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2008/07/22/farcry2_e3demo/, the only differences lie in the details, like fire, explosions, etc.

I think I'm going to try to max out the graphics. If I can't I'll just set it to the highest playable settings. I like at least some AA, moderate AF, resolution near 1680 x 1050. HDR and other effects are more important, though.

1680X1050
High settings (or close)(DX10 hopefully) some AA
with 35FPS will be good enough http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Hope everyone's pc can handle that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm not into 'how big is your ... talk'. As long as the peformance is good.

this thread is not "im gonna run it on 1900X1200 all max blah blah" thread.
quit the opposite .

i want to hear what is the LOWEST settings u would play a game on that will still make u feel like u r enjoying the graphics and the game.

what i understand from fanttasmaofdoom, for example, is that if he can't run the game on 1680X1050 High settings (or close) some AA with 35FPS than he will be upset and feel like the game is poorly optimized or that his rig is becoming obsolete.
i wouldnt. my expectations of my computer are lower and i will be more than satisfied with running it on all max, 1440X900, no AA.

Ynck, what is the MINIMUM graphic settings that will keep u satisfied?

Used to play BF2 on a 5200 geforce (didn't know much about cards and stuff). Good times. There where very realistic bullet speeds.

So: don't care as long as it is playable.

Hey adar sorry for my last post to you. I know the utter lack of punctuation musthave made it hard to discern what I was on about but as I said I was using a PSP at a Turkish bar where the owner wasnt impressed by the ammount of time it took me to write a message to you ( he shouldn't be offering free access if paying for it worries him http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif). So thank you for answering my question anyway. In regards to this thread, I only seriously got into PC's about 6 months ago when I recieved a gaming PC as a gift, so now (being into all the hardware and whatnot) I enjoy things most when I can play on max (AA etc doesnt bother me though) but as long as I can play the game smoothly and have a good time I guess it really doesnt matter whether I can't use all the bells and whistles.

Peace out, Tim http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
