View Full Version : Intentionally bailing on co-op to screw with TOW stats

Have you noticed how many co-op games start with someone dashing/lagging in the troop selection screen? That one guy who screws it up for everyone? I used to think "oh, he just has a bad connection and lagged out" but, I'm starting to think that some of it is actually people throwing matches to prevent TOW wins –*and boosters hunting for their buddies, they don't get their buddy so they dash and start over again.

If you think about it, a single guy could easily prevent a side from gaining/losing ground by simply getting into a match of 4, then dashing at the troop selection screen –*doesn't matter which side either. They could easily cause hundreds of potential wins from counting. And its not like you can stop it either, you can't boot them at the waiting screen.

When this happens:

* Games don't count win/loss –*there is no clear way to know if it actually counts in the TOW, I'm guessing it doesn't since it doesn't count elsewhere.

* Rank up and XP doesn't count. This really sucks, you play 10 games in an evening in 4s and only 2 or 3 of them actually give you valid XP – nothing ever ranks up.

* KIA does count! This is evil because of number 2. You lose a troop and nothing else ranks so, you're slowly losing everything.

I can see some valid reasoning:

1) They aren't happy with their co-op friends and dash – get some friends already and join in pre-made groups!

2) You did a quick match and didn't want to play co-op in the first place. That's your fault. If you aren't willing to play whatever it throws at you, don't quick match. Pick your # of players and pick your map.

3) Your connection/router flat out sucks and you need to get your s**t fixed.

4) You received the evil "host has quit" and didn't restart the room before rejoining and and screwed it up for everyone.

I hope that the patch somehow addresses these issues. At least make the XP and TOW wins count even if people drop in the beginning.

PVT: There is no way of knowing if this is true or not. Do you have hard proof that this is the case? Nope, because you can't see the wins during the day from the XML feed and even if you could, you couldn't tell if those were your wins or not. What would lead you to believe that it magically counts on the TOW?

We're talking about dropping _before_ the match starts, that's dropping in the troop selection screen, which means the game freezes briefly at the loading screen while they are swapped with an AI commander.

I too want an explanation of when matches count. If they both bail and you get money but you dont get a leaderboard win did that count for the TOW?

If you got the win and you get no credits...no leaderboard change I dont see how its giving the TOW a win...And I swear ive won hundreds of times where I got no money or credit on the leaderboards!!

Explanation for the love of GOD would be great Devs

Would be nice if in the after action report it would say "[N] points applied towards map X in TOW", and of course we could rely on it, unlike "unit promoted" and it doesn't stick.
