Hello Ubisoft
I purchased and downloaded RUSE from steam today (4 September 2011) and went to go play. It asks me to make a Ubisoft account, did that. Try to log in and it says "Could not communicate with account server. Please try again later", so I did. Then rebooted and retried the game and encountered the same problem. Next I reset my router to factory default, which did not solve the problem. So i check these forums. I see loads of people encounter the issue. The proposed fix is to go into OS(Chttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif>Windows>System 32>Drivers>etc. and edit HOSTS.txt deleting anything under here \/
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
I had nothing to delete.
Saved and exited. Tried Game again "Could not communicate with account server. Please try again later". I then flushed my DNS, and the game still didn’t work.
I then decided to call Australian technical support (I live in Australia) and was told to press 0 after the tone. I then pressed 0 and got disconnected. I retried calling about 5 times, with the same thing happening each time. I would have liked to demand a refund of my purchase, but each time i call i get disconnected. Please help me.
