View Full Version : Yugoslavian Hurricane uploaded at last :)

Well finally got round to finishing the Yugoslavic Hurricane based on Servals beautiful template, (read total repaint of original version i did), due to variations in information i have found for it, the file includes both versions, one with standard RAF Roundels on the wings and one with the Yugolslavian ones, hope you enjoy as well as the composite art work i did to show it off below. you can if you wish download it at. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Nice skin! But what's up with the glider-Hurricane in the background? The span on that thing must be well over 20 meters/70 feet... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

LOL it actually looked like that when i took the screenshot, i only scaled it down retaining the correct dimensions

Chaika has made two "Operation Marita" packs containing among other planes some Yugoslavian Hurricanes and Bf109s.

Yugoslavia produced number of their own Hurricanes built in "Zmaj" ("Dragon") factory... of course with British license.
They had decent number of imported Bf-109E3's, which aren't so different from E4's.

Yugoslav 109's usually boasted one color top camo, like one above

They used them against Germans when they invaded Yugoslavia in early 1941 (just prior to invasion of USSR). Even scored some kills 109 vs. 109 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif, I think total ~15 kills (http://users.accesscomm.ca/magnusfamily/ww2yug.htm) were credited to Yugoslav 109's in the course of one-month war...
Just want to point one thing tho, we are talking about two different countries here, both are called Yugoslavia, but nor they were same in size (similar tho) nor they were of same "type".
One was pre-war capitalist Yugoslavia, other which formed in WW2 was communist one (existed post war 'till 90's).

You will easily make a distinction as far as IL-2 skins are concerned, communist (or "post war" Yugoslavia) had stars in roundel, while capitalist had white cross in roundel.

Tail marking can be similar, just sometimes communist planes boasted small star in three-color flag (blue-white-red).

Nicely done Hynkel. I saw some dutch Hurri's as well on the Flying Legends site.

I also got two Yugo 109's up at Flying Legends - one is standard camo (L-13), the other is an experimental pattern tested just before the war - though i'll be probably updating these (and there will be more coming!).

I have just finished another Yugo Hurri (No.2306) but it's not yet uploaded...
