HELP!! I'm a newby. I can't seem to get started and am stuck in one of the rooms trying to enter the symbols. I presume these are the cryptic looking symbols on the left side of the door? Can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do?

I presume you are in the cleft. Have you got the power turned on?
