Waiting for my new ATI 9800pro card. I presently have a Nvidia Geforce 4 T4200 card. What is the best thing to do when I get the new card...should I drop down the graphics to let's say 800x600 with lower colors before I do the swap or is this even necessary anymore with WinXP pro? Thanks in advance!

You should always follow the installation instructions that will come with the video card.
If you want to preview what the instructions are you can find them at the ATI website.
