I've been trying to get the "Splinter Cell" P.E.C. points that have to do with completing a level without being detected. This morning I completed Kobin's Mansion without ever having the "Detected" alert come up, but I never got the points. Does anyone know if you're automatically detected because you have to interrogate Kobin?

Also the P.E.C. system seems really selective on when it will give me points. I take out guys all the time when they're stunned with a flashbang or emp, but most the time it doesn't give me the points. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't do the Kobin Mansion for that. Just do Deniable Ops; Let your partner clean up the enemies. You can follow him closely, providing cover with EMPs or Flashbangs, and when you do move out of safety, make sure you make a takedown when it's safe to do so. You may not reload the checkpoint!

As for the grenade stuns.... You have to take them down hand-to-hand. It doesn't say so, but I have been having the same problem with other challenges. For instance;

With Cat And Mouse, you have to kill an enemy investigating your LKP. You will only get progress if you do this hand-to-hand. I found this out the hard way. I would get detected and shoot someone in the head and get no progress.

Behind Closed Doors; For this PEC challenge you must "Mark an enemy with the optic cable and then eliminate him". Sounds easy; just mark someone and then melee or headshot him. But no, the challenge description actually fails to mention that you actually have to execute them also!

Just look at your progress now, then stun someone with a flashbang. Take him down hand to hand, then see if you have +1.

Let us know if this worked for you, other people might have this same problem too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You can also get it by using 2 controllers playing split screen. Just have controller 2 do the level.

I still haven't been able to unlock any more points with the grenade challenges, or the marking under the door one. From the other posts that have been on here, timing seems to be key. And it seems pretty selective on when you get the points or not.

It's frustrating. I wish they would've been clearer on what exactly you have to do to get the points.

Or you could actually learn to play the game properly and do it without cheating and thus avoid eliminating any challenge the game has to offer because, for some reason, you prefer to validate yourself through achievements rather than have any fun.

Personally, I think the Banya or Russian Embassy are the best to try to get the perfect hunter achievement on single player. The embassy is a lot more fun but a little more challenging.

For the grenade/mine challenges, you have to kill 3 people with a single grenade or it won't count. So only do it on levels where there are three guards standing close together having a conversation (the warehouse) or when a dense wave of guards run in through a door. Actually, the White House mission and Last Stand mode are good playgrounds for racking up grenade points.

For me, I went to the White Box Laboratory Map and the second time you actually meet hostiles (where they are standing by the emp where they shot the one scientist), I climbed up a pole and threw emp grenades down to get emp grenade p.e.c. You throw one, wait for them to stop holding their eyes or guns or whatever, then throw another etc. And I think for the flashbang p.e.c. (not stunned but flashbang) you have to be seen first and then you have to stun them and run away. I just shot down from pipe and when they saw me, I quickly threw a flashbang and crawled to another section of the pipe until I had vanished. Now for the stunned, I used M&E and it worked perfectly. It's also what I did for Behind Closed Doors. First, gain a M&E, mark a bunch of guys with five-seven, throw flashbang, and let 'er rip. Thats exactly the method I used to get those achivements. Also, I obviously had to press restart from checkpoint alot because there arent 50 guys in the room to kill lol.

I was merely offering an alternative to anyone who couldn't do it the way it was intended.

I also like the Russian Embassy for this, and often (just now) completed it in deniable ops hand to hand only. I prefer to do it hand to hand. i've learned how to do the majority of the maps hand to hand without the use of the gadgets or shooting lights. I carry the Desert Eagle, and Shotgun for looks, and to be sure not to fire because it will bring more enemies.

I can play run and gun also. Depends on how I feel. But mostly I get great pleasure out of the hand to hand combat.
