Not a typewriter, but a special computer printer. It has a moving shelf which moves the notepad under the ink jets as the characters are sprayed onto the paper. Also a special arm to turn pages. Then all you need to do is type the text into a computer.

A flapper could be one of those weird flat critters on Teledahn, but it is also a term used to describe a young woman in the 1920's who affected a certain style of dress, engaged in certain activities and hung out in certain places -- in short, who adopted a party lifestyle which was the equivalent of later generations' "hip" or "mod."*

'25 could refer to either the year 1925 (during the years of the flappers), or the number 625 (25 squared, a significant D'ni number). Or just the number 25 (5 squared, also a significant D'ni number).

That's what I meant by a numerical pun. One word (or number) that could have several meanings.
