Anyone else miss the WNM brief news reports that were in SC1-SCCT. I wish they would bring it back, I really liked them and it could work great for SCC. They could talk about Sam Fisher is on the loose and if you see him, report to the authorities. Something like that, along with the other world news.

Very true! It just added a little more atmosphere to the game, a sense of realism. And it would work very, very well with conviction as you've said. Sam will be on the news, though he couldn't return to being a spy because everyone'll know Sam.

Absolutely I want WNM back! WNM has been in every Splinter Cell game and it could fit in so so sweetly with Conviction. I would be disheartened if WNM didnt return to Conviction due to the fact that WNM could tie in with whats happening to Sam and to what the whole Conviction storyline could revolve around. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

YES.
I think keeping the news reels for DA would've made it a lot more intriguing, to get an outside perspective of the JBA's goings on between missions. Imagine for example the news after Iceland, talking about Fisher & the bank robberies, getting apprehended, convicted, etc. Then a news cap before the JBA 1 talking about the prison riot, escape of 2 unknown inmates, & the helicopter hijacking/kidnapping of Cole Yeager (mentioning him being a husband & father of 3 or whatever). That would've helped add a little 'moral choice' when you're given the choice to kill him at the end of the mission.
And throughout the first few levels they could've also filled in the tension building situation in Kinshasa that leads up to the fighting that goes on once you get to the mission to help add a little depth to the story, which many agree was lacking.

This was one of the things that i was dissapointed that it didnt get into SCDA. Finally, we could be able to see Sam on the news.

It was the news cast that immediately drew me into the first game believe it or not. It was unlike anything I'd seen in a game before, and really felt like a real life scenario. Then the training level began. I loved the whole idea about the game before even doing the first real mission.

It might have been a bit wierd having WNM and Morris Odell in DA because what would they talk about after a JBA level? They could've found something I'm sure but anyway... Yes I want it for ConViction, it would be good to be playing as Sam then see on the news, the cops and the media always being one step behind you.

I don't care, but that's what is unique about sc. It sure would be nice.
and btw - isn't WNM something else in SC1 and PT?

It was called FNW in SC1 and PT.Then WNM in Chaos Theory.Anyway I hope we'll see them again in SC:C.I disliked the fact that the broadcast was missing in DA(PC),it made the game even more boring than it was.

It was FNW is SC1, but Pandora Tomorrow changed it to WNM (using the same anchor). CT changed it so it looked way more like a news programme, again with the same anchor. He's in the last-gen DA, at the end, and he's in the credits of next-gen DA (you can hear him reporting).
Bring it back! With DA it would've been great, with Conviction it'd be great to add to the immersion.
