Hi
Please help me on this problem.i cant seem to get far cry to run on ultra settings,im lost on this one.it only shows very high,But water is ultra high.
my system is(XP PRO-XP3000CPU-GIGABYTE-7N 400 PRO2,My cards a TOXIC X800 PRO-RAM 1 GIG PC2700(333.

You have a pretty good computer but there are areas where improvement could provide better framerates at very high settings.
1 CPU at Pentium 4 3.0 GHz is the minimum processor for high spec machines.
2. Memory speed is DDR333 which is not recommended for your machine. You should be using DDR400 (PC3200) RAM.
3. The video card is good and should be able to run very high specs but not at the highest resolution and not with full AA and AF turned on.
Far Cry has low, medium, high and very high graphics settings. Ultra high might only be for water if I remember correctly. You should be able to run everything on very high/ultra high with 1024x768 resolution. (but not 1600x1200)
Edit: I just re-read your post and maybe you are talking about auto detect. If so, do not use auto detect, it never worked right anyway. You should set the graphics manually to anything you like that works for you. Remember the game came out before the X800 series of vid cards.

Yes Coops, only water quality has the "ultra high" setting. On the rest "very high" is the maximum.
