Im on the level where you have to lead the three tank operators to there tanks. I then have to lead them to the next point obviously via road.

My gripe is, when you are going down the tunnel, and the tanks begin to follow you, right by the ammo box they puss out. An enemy armed vehicle rolls up and the tanks do nothing. COME ON. I mean couldnt they fire a shot or run someone over. I tried to command them but you cant I guess. I had focused my attention on the ground troops and figured they would pick up the AV, but nope they were just a chillin.

Anyway the tanks contacted me and said quote "We are taking fire", and I thought "then do something about it", 3 tanks on one AV and some ground, step up.

Just got a laugh out of their cowardice. Is there somthing I missed. Are they rookies, lol.

It's way worse in one of the later missions... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The tanks can't fire as they have no ammo at that point...

so did you get through that part of the mission?

If I remember correctly, I moved down the left side of the tunnel, found a little indentation where they couldn't hit me and through some grenades at the other tank/gunner vehicle. Once you hit it with a grenade twice, it will blow up and the tanks can move forward. You can try to snipe the guy on top firing at you first if want.

I just stood between my two tanks, and just bounced grenades off of the wall/ceiling and hit the enemy tank. not very hard.

Thanks for the advice. I do think that taking out the gunner on top of the AV is the most effective strategy. Unless one of my team mates will just toss a few nades at it, my nade accuracy is lacking.

I wonder how many other people use the snipe method?

Bouncing nades of the ceiling, you the man. My nade accuracy stinks. I just throw them over the enemy or short most of the time. Its hit or miss literally. I still have to fine toon the strength of throw versus the angle.

a tip for a later mission...NEVER EVER choose John Hume the Anti-Tank Gunner...when you order your sqaud to fire at an enemy he usually hits a wall or teammate and kills your whole team.

I ran up the left side and told my team to get into the little doorway to the right. I threw a smoke and told my team to blow up the enemy APC.

The reason the friendly tanks don't shoot is because they don't have ammo and your escorting them to get ammo restocked.

Pay attention to the story line dude.

Yeah I made it through the mission fine, in fact I didnt have to use a smoke or my team. I just found it funny the first time I tried that the tanks didnt shoot. So I posted. The next time I tried I payed attention to the video where I am escorting the tanks for ammo. Formerly I hadnt heard that. But I appreciate your advice, others may find it useful.

By the way, It was already posted above that the tanks had no ammo. The poster AlienStorm.360, the 3rd poster let us all know that. Therefore that bit of information and your sarcasm is not required. You should pay attention dude. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

In one of the later missions, you have to move some tanks forward as part of your attack.. and you basically have to babysit them because they can't fire more than 50 feet in front of them, and they definitely can't shoot over a 3' wall.

I always try to answer the top post with the most full answer possible so you or anyone else wanting to know the answer have to just read one post and not scan everyone elses for bits and peices of info to get the big picture.

I always use my team as much as possible, I know I could do it by myself easier ways, I just like being all stratigic and working with my team.

Sorry if my sarcasm offended you, I am always like that. It gets me in trouble a lot with people. lol. No hostility meant towards you.

If you noticed that you were escorting only three people to the tanks you would have realized that you wouldn't have had a fully operational tank at your disposable. Those three people happen to be drivers which have no control over the firing of the gun. You would have a legitmate gripe if you escorted say twelve people instead of three. You are suppose to have a crew of 4 in a tank: A commander, a loader, a gunner, and a driver.

You could go without the commander but the tank would be hampered. Even if the tanks were fully loaded, they couldn't fire because there were only drivers and not the other two essential parts in the system that deal with firing the main gun.
