Why?
1) No in-game graphics settings other than resolution and whether or not you want to played windowed or full-screen. This is utterly unacceptable for a PC game.
2) No in-game audio settings. Want to turn up the volume for voice and effects? Too bad Jack, you can't. Want to change from surround to two speakers? Nope, can't do that, either.
3) Extra DRM. Me logging into my steam account and only having access to games in steam that I have purchased is enough DRM. I shouldn't need to log into Ubisoft's servers additionally in order to prove I bought the game. I freakin bought it, or else it wouldn't be available for me to play over steam.
4) Capped a 30 fps. This is a garbage console setting that has no business on a PC game.
There was literally no effort whatsoever put into this port, and this game makes me wish I stuck to my policy of never buying console ports - because, in general, they are crap and a waste of money, just like this one. I've asked Steam for a refund, and I'll raise Cain until I get one.
I thought Ubisoft learned their lesson with the Settlers 7 DRM backlash, but apparently not. These losers will not be getting another dollar out of me anytime soon.
