Tonight was my first time going on XBox Live and playing R63: BA and Battlefront. Needless to say I died more often than I thought (in battlefront) and found it alot harder to do multiplayer on console than on PC. Battlefront was ok, but seemed to be way to much clustering and shooting blindly into a crowd in hopes of hitting something. Black Arrow was way more tactical, which was nice, but dear lord to people take that game seriously! Had to listen to one guy go on for 15 minutes about how someone was taking cheap shots with a sniper rifle and needed to fight like a man.
Anyway, figured I would share that with you all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hope you had fun on Live. It gets better when you play with a great group of people like the fragdolls and others. If you want to add me to your friends list my gt is STEEL ONIMUSHA.

I hate to say it at some point or another you're going to have to deal with **** like that. Just ask Valkyrie about one of the servers we joined in last night. That guy going off about cheap shots will seem like nothing in comparison.

Cheap shots with a sniper rifle.... I wasnt there... hmmmm... hehe http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. But SWBF for the consols in my opinion isnt that great because of that auto aim feature that kicks in... long live the PC for making the users actualy have to hit their targets.

Well the person running the SWBF server can disable the auto-aim feature so that people do have to hit their tagets. I think most just don't think about it when they are initially setting it up.

Well I got on an awesome Black Arrow server last night. We were having one hell of a fun time. Both sides were equal kept going back and forth with wins. Was fun, actually going to hop on now before work to get more practice in. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah I know I'll have to put up with it and worse, it goes along with voice chats. Just havent used voice chat since playing Dark Age of Camelot years ago.

Battlefront didnt hit it off with me. I gave it another try and there is just something about it. Oh well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, Halo 2 will definitely be the coolest thing ever, especially on Xbox LIVE. Speaking of which, is there like a Gamertag thread or list of some sort? If not we should get something like that going.

BTW, hello everyone, this is my first post.

How many peeps are gonna be up for some team play on Halo 2?

I was on the beta, and my biggest pet peeve was jumping into a CTF or bomb run game and getting matched up with people who didn't work together as a team. Everyone just raced to get to the vehicles first, etc. And occasionally you'd get someone who barked orders out to everyone all the time. That was annoying. Much more fun when you're with a group of people who work together.

My gamertag is Juiceman, so if your down with some team play, feel free to add me.

yeah, we should definitely come up w/a list. if you check our calendar on the site, there's 4 of us who will hopefully be playing tuesday midnight.

i'm more of a TS player (don't play much CTF). i played for maybe 10 whole minutes at PAX and i noticed that you have to be closer to melee... will have to adjust i guess

Glad to hear you made it online.. I remember the first time I played online it was Ghost Recon and it was freakin Amazing! It was hard to go back and play against the AI on campaign after that.

Yes there r so many *ouche bags on online, I swear I have half of Xbox live muted already. You definitely need to start playing with us or just a group of people that won't exploit the game, like spawn kill. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yea spawn killing is lame. Just something like that needs to make the guy suicide by explosion... kinda like admin_slay on Counter Stirke hehe.

Well I tried to add you and the other girls to my friends list but said your list was full. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif We'll have to meet sometime and play though, I think my skills are getting a bit better. I just have to get out of my mouse/keyboard mode. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I can tell you first hand Binary that Valkyrie is a really good teacher. I still have a lot more practicing to do, but she helped out quite a bit and was patient, so it was a double bonus. Plus you'll have fun even if you do get killed a time or two. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well I was able to get all the Dolls except you Valkyrie added to my list now. It said your list was full again Valkyrie (some major popularity there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif). I REALLY wish I could be on at 2pm tomorrow but I have to work from 1pm to 10pm cst. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Maybe we can get a game in late saturday, sunday, or monday before halo 2. Would love to get a lesson on how to play better! Got into a few games today and I got my share of kills but the deaths I took were out of the blue. They would pick me off the moment I peeked my head around a corner, was crazy! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ahhhh this reminds me of the first time I played on LIVE, and the post I made on the RS3 forum regarding it. I dug it up, for those of you interested in my console n00b's view. The guys were really great on giving me suggestions on how I can improve my experience, so if you find yourself nodding your head when reading my post, check out the original thread for their suggestions. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

quote:
So, as a bunch of you know, I previously did not have access to a console. Being the Ravenshield fanatic that I am, I decided to play Black Arrow since I now have access to an Xbox. Sadly, my first experience has been less than stellar.

Between the kids yelling in my ear to talk to them, being tk'ed at spawn by the host, and the lack of Team Survival servers with a decent rating for me as well as a decent amount of players, it was enough to send me scurrying back to my good ol' PC.

I don't want to be unfair, but the PC version has an abundance of active and decent pinging servers, I have the choice of whether to hear/talk to people in the server, and I rarely seem to run into immature kids.

I KNOW there must be something that i'm missing, because there are oodles of you older, mature players such as First Responders that play RS3/BA actively. Do you normally play just with your clan and people that you know? Is it silly of me to venture outside and play with random people? I'd like to know! I'd really like to give the console version a fair chance and attempt to enjoy it, even as much as I curse the evil controller!

BTW, if any of you would like to kill a n00b who enjoys running into walls (although, the guys I played with did compliment me that I was "good" 'cause I seemed to know the maps haha!), my gamertag is Princess Kimi. I'm too much of a noob to send out friends requests, so if you send me a request i'll attempt to figure out how to accept them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I agree, my biggest pet peeve is a room where people don't communicate as a team. It is SO much easier when you do! That is why the stats seem to work against the purpose of the game in Black Arrow. I have to say, I am very impressed with the way the stats are set up in Socom II.

It's my pleasure Binary-Legion, it sounds like you're in the same boat as me. Perhaps we can n00b it up together sometime http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
