hehe

First go into Uru and take your avatar pic through the closet screen in your Relto. Hit print screen in the game and tab out. Now open MS Paint or some similiar program and paste the image into a new file. Then crop the image down to no more than 64X64, and then save the picture. Next you have to upload it to a webspace provider. Don't know of any free ones sorry. After that's done you go into your MY SPACE tab above this thread and go to Profile. While there scroll down to Avatar/Picture URL and put the link to your picture that is on the net in that supplied box and scroll down to the bottom and hit Submit.

I know your not an idiot, I just figured I'd broaden this for some of the lunkheads we do get around here. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Osaurus,

Have a look at the How do you get your photo on profile? (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=1981034&m=7271076) thread.

testing, god i hope theres a picture here.
thx thx thx !!!
to answer the above question, yes, 64x64 pixals, using paint, set that in attributes. first you need to shirnk your pic using stretch/skew (it took around 25 tries for me) then copy your pic into a new file that you already set at 64x64 pixals.

If you need an easy place to place your photos, check this site: http://www.villagephotos.com

I found it yesterday; it works great, so far.

Yikes, yeah, no .bmp files as they're usually really big, even if the pic is small. Village photos is ok for short term remote loading but don't be surprised to find that it's a red X after a while as you exceed your alloted linking. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Try here:
http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk/taketour/

They may still allow remote loading of images. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

ya know, we might need a tech forum, really.
today i've tried sbc yahoo and the pic stops loading after the first thread.
next i tried villagephotos, its working but the pic is messed up.
next i tried tripod and geocites for personal web pages, they let me build photo albums which link to a page, not a picture.so i don't know if that works.
i'm in california- do i need to call arnald?

Ah-nold can't help you there. Most likely, if that lycos link above doesn't work, then you need to find some inexpensive webspace in which to upload stuff, sorry. :-\ The days of free websites is gone, I'm afraid.

If you're in California, switch to Cox Cable. You get seven free e-mail accounts, each with a bunch of free webspace, and lots of bandwidth. I run a popular Morrowind website that regularly exceeds the official bandwidth allowance, and they haven't complained or tried to bill me yet...

As for the image, .jpg is good, but .gif will let you have a transparent background http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

LOTS of ISPs offer webspace with their email accounts so it's possible folks have space on-line and don't know it. I did. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif At earthlink you get 10meg of storage with each email address. That's a LOT of avatars! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif You have to learn to use an FTP client but I know at least with earthlink they have very easy to understand walkthrough stuff on the site.

Good luck!
