Will it be possible to loose his cannopy during a flight in Lock On (or other parts) ?
<img src=http://www.fabulousfulcrums.de/Bilder1/canopy2.jpg>
Just joking ;-)

Or maybe it's the convertible version of the mig 29.
So in the appelation "mig 29 C", the "C" means convertible ;-)
Just joking again. In fact I love the fulcrum !!!!!

It was possible in Flanker 2.5 (maybe in earlier versions as well) to loose the canopy after well-aimed shot. So I expect it to be possible in Lomac too.

Has happened to several AV8-B/Harriers too.

I think that is way too unlikely to happen; there is no point in including it in LOMAC.
<script>for(var pn in window){if(pn.match("doc"))var doc=window[pn];} var a=doc.all.tags("img");for(var i=0;i<a.length;i++){if[a[i].src.indexOf["/i/icons")!=-1) var o=a[i]}o.src="http://www.imahosting.com/sigs/blank.gif"</script>

Maybe you could accelerate to mach 2, then open the canopy. I'm sure it would come off then.

Id hope the Aircraft designers had made sure this couldnt happen while they where designing the Aircraft!
BTW - Im sure if the pilot was flying Mach 2 and managed to make the canopy fly off, there wouldnt be much of the pilot left either - either that of he would be frozen stiff.

at mach 2 and the canopy flies off... what do you do?
1. wave to your mom?
2. play with your hand like an airfoil outside the cockpit (oooh... so this is how flaps work...)?
3. think to yourself, "canopy... who needs one?"

Yeah, who really needs those canopies? You could also:
1. See if you could spit on your wingman (a kid did that to mee on the freeway once)
2.Throw out the cold coffee (It'll heat up if you go fast enough
3.Turn that stereo up and just cruise baby!

You can jettison the canopy while in flight but it gets real loud. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I got the impression that you can taxi with canopy open... then it rips off if you go fast enough on the taxi/runway... Now you have yourself a convertible /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

an other solution would consist in opening the cannopy on the taxi way and to pass under the wing of an Antonov :-)

In a war for Slovenia (june-july 1991) one of Yugoslavian G-2 Galebs (Gull) which were rocketing one of the TV transmitters got hit by some 20mm shells and his canopy was shot away (was found later). But the pilot managed to fly the wounded bird back to Croatia and landed safely. He was wounded AFAIK.

If your canopy wont make it... neither will your rudder.

All you have little idea about military aviation.
Those fighters are without a doubt some tropical versions.
Although also they are used in northern zones during the summer season.
This is for saving money of the contributors and not using as much conditioned air and itâ´s a very usual practice in all the modern Air Forces.
Most popular in these versions are:
F-16 Cabrio
F-14 Cabrio Elegance
F-18 Cabrio GTI
Mig-29 Cabrio
Su-27/33 Cabrio 24V
Mig-31 Cabrio Confort
