"You have been returned to the main menu because your connection to the lobby server has been lost"

It's happening every time I join now, it waits a few minutes then does it.
Last night it only did it like once, can anyone help?

Now it won't even log me in, it just stays in the Logging in message then says it took too long so it had to cancel.

From the screen shot it appears you are on a PC.
It also appears the problem may be on your end.
If you are behind a router, try connecting directly to your modem and see if that helps.
I wouldn't suggest running very long like that as you are more vulnerable, but I know players who do because the can't host behind their router!
Also, what is your connection speed?

Hey Lethal, thanks for helping. A quick update is that I can login now however I still get booted and get that message.
I'm not entirely sure how to do all that router stuff, I'm linked directly via Ethernet.
Apparantly my download speed is 18842kb/s and upload is 532.

Well, your connection is definitely fast enough!
If you aren't connecting though a router, it appears there is something on your end that is blocking your connection.
Do you have cable or DSL?
The only other thing I can think of would be your firewall blocking Vegas 2.
Or maybe even your internet provider?
Did you have to install software that maybe has some security settings?
I am grasping at straws now, but check this:
Go to control panel
Security Center
Windows Firewall
Click the Exceptions Tab
Make sure Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is included in Programs and Services and is checked!
If it isn't, you can use the add program button and browse to the Vegas 2 game.exe to add it.
I haven't seen the problem you describe, so maybe someone else here has better ideas!
Good luck!!

Dang, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was included in the list and was checked. I then tried playing whilst disabling Windows Firewall and that didn't resolve it.
I use DLS I believe.
Maye I need to access my Router's settings and open up the port?
Another thing though is it's completely random. Sometimes itll happen instantly, sometimes itll happen in 15 minutes, sometimes inbetween.
If thats the case, does anyone know the port numbers it uses?

You shouldn't have to open ports to play .. just when you host!
Are you trying to connect to a known good server?
If you have a friend close by who can host, I would try that.
If you have Teamspeak or Ventillo, that makes it much easier when you are testing.
First I would bypass your router and connect your computer directly to your PC from your modem.
The other problem may be that every DSL modem I have seen has it's own router built in, so if you have a router, there is a good chance you are actually connecting through 2 routers.
You could safely eliminate your router if your modem already includes a router.
I also have DSL and had to bridge the built in router so I could use my D-Link routers advanced settings to host.
I was just rechecking your posts, and that would be a very fast speed for DSL.
Also, your upload speed should be faster considering your download speed.
That is unusual!
Are you sure you don't have cable?
Try this test site to get an idea of your internet speed:
Internet Speed Test (http://www.speedtest.net/)
You can also use this tool to see what kind of ping you get to different locations.
Might be of some help with gaming.
Ports for Vegas 2 are:
TCP
80,3974
UDP
3074-3174

Don't forget to look at other firewall program you might on your PC like Norton, McAfee, Zonelabs, etc. In the program list or exception list, be sure that Vegas 2 has the right to connect to internet (pretty much the same as you did with windows firewall)
hope this helps!
