View Full Version : Crashing in Between Loading Screens

My game seems to crash a lot during the pause after i hit the "apply" button after completing a mission. once this happens, my entire game up to that point is lost when i reboot and try to continue the game. it says the map cant be found or isnt loaded. anyone else have this problem? any way to fix it or at the very least salvage the game.

this looks like either a corrupted install/patch or memory problem . I would recommend you test your memory with this utility

you may be better to uninstall and reinstall - if you uninstall please remove ubi.com as well -it will reinstall
after you install test each version after it has loaded befor applying update or patch
e.g. for full versions

If you are confident that you are patched correctly then it seems to point to memory problems either physical problem with your ram or high memory useage causing crashes

have you tested your memory ?
another thing to try is shut down all unnecessary programs and services running in the background while playing- see my guide below or luckyboys on same site for suggestions

are you using the default mission generator or paul lowengrins dcg ?
have you tried different campaigns and if so does this occur each time or only specific campaign/nationality ?

There's one other possibility.... sometimes the pause after hitting the apply button can be VERY long, making it seem that the computer has crashed. I've heard of cases where it's as long as 8 or 9 minutes. Try waiting longer.

It may help to defrag you hard drive, that has been known to dramatically speed up mission application/generation for some users and make the process a lot more stable.
