It takes ages to make a mule pack to board a ship to make new settlement overseas. But I have read you can use thieves to carry wood and stone to the ship. But how on earth can this work? Surely thieves will only carry goods if they steal it from an opponent?
I ask this because in the walkthrough Dark Tribe mission 6 it suggests building storage area for stone and wood, then crush it and have the thieves pick it up to take to the ships. How on earth does this work please? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Just as it says - normally thieves won't steal the player's own goods that are outside buildings or are earmarked already to be picked up by a carrier, but they will pick up "free" goods lying on the ground. So if you work quickly, the thieves will pick up the goods from the crushed storage.
As a test, right at the start of the game try getting a thief to pick up some of the goods lying on the ground near your starting tower, to see how this works. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
