why wont it work?

when i insert the farcry dvd into my drive it doesent auto-start,and then when i go to open it manualy using run it just freezez for a while then tells me to insert a disk! it then freeze again and when end run my screen goes blank,then comes back to normal a few second later! i have dvd drive and ive checked all my other specs,ive also whent back to the store to get the game changed but the new one doesnt work either!,what could it be?

See if there is a firmware update for your DVD drive.
