What are your exact System specs ? Can you post a DXDIAG ?

For Windows XP:

1: Click on Start Menu (Start Button)
2: Click on "Run" on the right hand side.
3: Type "dxdiag" (minus quotes) in the dialogue box that appears.
4: Hit "Ok" or press enter.
5: Wait for the progress bar, bottom left, to complete.
6: Click on "Save All Information" and then save it to a text file in a location of your choosing.
7: Open the text file that you just created, select all ([CTRL]+[A]), copy ([CTRL]+ [C]) and then paste it ([CTRL]+[V]) in your forum message.

For Windows Vista/7:

1: Type "dxdiag" (minus quotes) in the search box that is above the Start Button
2: Follow steps 4 - 7 above.

Hello hi_boo,

Your PC specs are fine, so you shouldn't have much problem playing 'Settlers 7'. You just need to fully update your OS i.e. Vista. It looks to me that the 'UbisoftGameLauncher' file is giving you trouble ?

Have you tried reinstalling this file i.e. GameLauncher, and see if it works or not ? And do you have any other process running in the background, which can cause the GameLauncher to crash. Disable any Firewall you may have, and make sure the GameLauncher is allowed full access to the Internet.

First Disable DEP (Data Execution Prevention) under Vista OS:

**Go to Start--All Programs--Accessories, and then Right Click on Command Prompt, and Run it as an Administrator, and type or copy/paste the following text into the command prompt window:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

Press the ENTER key, and you should see the following confirmation: 'Operation Completed Successfully'. After that REBOOT your PC.


Now Try reinstalling the UbisoftGameLauncher again, but first you need to Manually delete the entire 'Ubisoft Game Launcher' folder from your system, e.g. from C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher. Also remove it from Control Panel---->Programs & Features. Make sure the UbisoftGameLauncher is fully removed from these locations, BEFORE installing.

After that again reinstall the Game Launcher from the disk/DVD. Browse the DVD, and go to 'Support-----> Game Launcher', and run the UbisoftGameLauncherInstaller.exe file.

OR, reinstall the software from here:

they never helped
i wouldnt bother asking ubisoft they suck.
best thing you can do is hope that somebody else had your problem and that they found a fix and posted it.
if anybody has my problem. just upgrade to windows 7 and you will be fine
