View Full Version : MP: Assassin or demolition man?

I have played the multiplayer for allmost a week now and i allready starting to see that some players start to use the Assassin class as a demolition man.
As soon they have the plant bomb skill they stop being the invisble backstab rogue type of class but start to use only their bombs as grenades by throwing them at players and blow them up.
And lots of times they even blow themselfs up with it. You dont see them using the invisble skill any more or using their knifes. Its just boom, boom, boom.
This is just so freaking anoying specialy for a warrior since you have to run constantly to dodge these "grenades" and you cant get near these assassins because of these bombs so basicle a waste of time trying to kill these players.

I m not calling for a nerf or anything i m just saying is this class supposed to act like this?
I havent used this playstyle yet since i didnt had problems using my knifes. But mayby you should let it take 2 sec to plant these bombs and make them less visable or invisble for non assissan classes so that these are bombs again and not grenades.

Bombs can be annoying... and are really powerful... I suggest Kuju to reduce its power by half...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If reduce the power by half it will be pointless these Assassins need something to counter a warrior just like the priest needs something to counter an archer but there isn't anything

That's bullcrap, if you have full stamina upgrades countering a warrior is easy.

By sprinting the full length of stamina, letting it recharge and then sprinting away for full stamina over and over again, you will always be accelerating away from the warrior.

Find a corner, put cloak on while running away, once round a corner stand perfectly still. If you're quick enough, the warrior will run straight past and you can chase and backstab.

Besides, the assassin shouldn't really be putting themselves in a position where they need to run like hell from a warrior, unless of course backstab messes up which it usually does now.

I also agree that the bombs need to ne fixed. Some games I am in, I see assassins who don't do anything other than plant bombs and let them kill people. They don't care about TKs or killing themselves, as long as they kill as many people as possible and stay high on the score board, they will just spam bombs all the time.

This is ******ed, as it takes the fun out of an assassin, and every other class. It's not fun at all when you run up some steps and suddenly die, and there's no way of preventing it.

i've been seeing this alot recently. i'm not one to complain about the classes as i've not had much problem playing or defeating each class.

but it honestly gets really annoying seeing assassins just running up to a group of people or even one player then just toss a grenade in killing multiple people or that one single person in just one grenade. and not even hurting himself with the poison or anything.

if people say they are doing this because of they are fighting warriors that's quite the opposite. i see them doing this to all types of class, ignoring cloak all together.

i have no problem fighting a warrior as an assassin, use cloak and backstab them.

the most annoying however are the ones that do use cloak, to get behind a group of people then toss in one to blow up the whole group.

this needs to be look at.

That only works when the warrior plays the game for the first time and never heard of lock on, or common sense.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yep, if they lock on before you cloak, it stays locked on. They really need to fix that.

A simple fix would be to give triggered bombs a cooldown to stop the spammage. If backstab was reliable again (and it once was, for a short while, beta build 1.1) the incentive to be a "mad bomber" might decrease a bit as well....

The bombs are there for a reason. Assassins have absolutely no purpose on choke points. They get a backstab and die. That is it. The grenades help them stop enemies from advancing.

Don't worry, once clan stuff starts up, we will all be seeing a much more tactifull game.

That's no excuse for them to be one-shot death grenades. Poisoning a large group of people so that they can no longer see or fight as effectively is a large advantage without having to kill 10 people with one bomb. It's bull****

By the way, don't complain to Kuju. If they're stupid enough to make this game as grossly unbalanced as it is now, further changes will only make it worse (see backstab).

Well, I can't comment cause I've had no experience, although it would explain how a warrior managed to find me once or twice.

Although, for the best part, it works pretty well.

Yes they are quite annoying, and i always buy stamina, footsteps and cloaks first so i can easily counter warriors.

I don't think it's a click ticker.

You can't really own as much as a warrior does when hacking and slashing around.

But an assasin bomber fits also to the theme if you ask me.
Those mines really assasinate folks.

The problem with triggered poison orbs is the lack of recast time.

You can drop one right after the previous one blows up, and literally fill an entire area with poison.

Lowering the damage won't help. The only way to fix this is to put in 10 second recast timer from the time a triggered orb is dropped before another one can be. This way it can still be a good four point investment, but no longer spammable.

Nah either way make it grenades and remove posion. Or make it bombs with posion but longer time to set them and allso longer cooldown.
But not posion grenades.
The explosion doesnt botter me much its the posion!

Hey all.. Im the proud owner of a copy of DM, unfortunately my game freezes after the first lvl, where u get an introduction of basic movements... I have tryed reinstalling the game.. and downloading it from steam, nothing works..

Am I the only one with this problem, or does anyone know what the problem is, and how to fix it?..
