For those of you worried about spoilers, I won't explain anything about the "reason" behind mine assembly. I will just discuss the minigame where you have to assemble them.

For those of you who will come crashing in here and yell "Search it!", well I did. There was nothing very relevant, even if it was mentioned before

There are certain mini-games in DA, such as picking locks, hacking, cracking safes, etc. MOST of them increase in difficulty depending on what it is protecting...and also what difficulty you are playing on. So far, all of the minigames I have done (on Hard), have been insanely easy after I get the technique down (takes about a minute or less). Except for one...

vvvSKIP THIS PART IF YOU KNOW WHAT MINE ASSEMBLY IS ALREADYvvv
The mine assembly. The point of the minigame (on Hard) is to place 10 out of 15 pins into 10 mine bases. So, you can miss 5 pins and still win, but you can't miss six pins, ok?

You press the right trigger to lower the pin down towards the mine. If you let go of the trigger, the pin will slowly revert to its original position. As it is going down, the pin "wobbles" w/ the robotic arm. You have to correct the wobbling and keep it within the innermost circle AS you are moving it downward. If you get to the bottom without touching any sides, you win...only 9 more to go now!

On to the problem...

It is ****ing IMPOSSIBLE to do on Hard! Has ANYONE completed the mine assembly objective on Hard mode? If so, can you please give me some pointers on how the hell to do it. I'm assuming that it is much easier on Normal and Easy. Whenever I get down to the innermost section (where you must deposit the pin), it will move so erratically that I can't even guess which way to correct it. If it moves one nanometer to the left, then I lose because it is such a tight space.

I am lost for ideas, it took me 15 pins to assemble 0 mines...that is good, right? I mean...I would be amazed if someone could assemble ONE mine on hard!

Should I just leave the objective and let my trust drop to a half a bar, will I be able to regain the trust rather quickly next mission (please exclude spoilers, yes or no question)? I currently have full bars for both JBA and NSA, if that is any consolation.

I am pissed off now, because I can't just beat this one mission on Easy, I have to go all the way through on hard http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I pulled off all 10 mines in 11 pins... on Hard, some pointer are reall just o stick to one direction, pull RT and whatever direction if first diverts to is the direction u should begin to move the LS... pull the RT hard and let go a bit before the mine and then re-adjust and pull RT again, once the pin is in the top u can just pull RT and it will go straight down without moving... maybe ur thumbstick is loose...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yea, same here: 10 mines in 11 pins on hard. It's really really easy, you just need a steady hand and DON'T OVERCORRECT (like with the Shanghai helicopter, a lot of people will overcorrect the roll)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm wondering why they even have those silly minigames. They profess to push for realism and as an EOD technician I can tell you that a blind monkey on crack can insert a mine fuzw. Anyhoo, it's a video game so no biggie I guess. I'm more just pissed that the MP is such utter **** and get more easily upset at the few snags in the SP.

I would have to agree with you. SP isn't as good as CT with the feel. The new gadgets and stuff are cool but most of them make the game way too easy even on hard. The hardest parts of the game to me is when you have more then two guys close together on hard dif. Especially at the end. But once you learn how to do it it's pretty easy.

I still hope they either get rid of Sam or make SP so you can play it like coop from CT. If you're alone then your partner is the AI then if you have live or system link you can play it together.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
