View Full Version : So why isn't JSF going for Moscow?

I admit the Primary Front Rule is ridiculous, but by it's current definition, JSF should have won all of it's territories last night, and be attacking Moscow.

The PF by definition was Roveniemi Air Base and JSF won it by 1 game, and yet we lost all of it and we're back to attacking Rondane from Grissom.

I can only assume that Reagan was counted as a loss because we lost our PF at Roveniemi.

Anyone have any answers?

You can't lose the territory you are attacking from.

There are different rules for colliding fronts that ubi hasn't told us about. Rondane/Rovaniemi/Scania was a colliding front.

JSF won Reagan, which is why JSF still controls it. (if it was counted as a loss, then EFEC would control it) JSF doesn't get defensive spoils because the attack is from "nowhere".

^^Ya, but then the loss of Rondane by the Russians when we beat them at Grissom wouldn't be explained.

^Oh my, unexplained rules for ToW, imagine that!

In a colliding front they add the two territories together Rondane and Rovaniemi, and the winner gets both.

So it was really 5004 SPZ to 4070 JSF

SPZ wins both

I thought the same thing, but that doesn't explain everything since that doesn't explain Okefenokee/Arrabida in turn 16. (colliding fronts, split decision, but instead it was replay maps in turn 17)

Maybe that's why the community managers never explained the rules. Ba-dum Ching!

That was before the update where they changed it. Back then one side had to win both territories.

Here is the quote from the DEV... I just asked yesurday

Basically if each faction of a colliding frontline wins on the other territory, we will use the overall scores to push the frontline in one direction so there will be a change from one turn to the other.

Very very useful information that should definitely be made public. All the patch said was that the issue with colliding frontlines was fixed. It wasn't explained how it was fixed and the conditions that were added.

Yea a dev or a moderator should make a post with the finalized rules for the TOW

Wow, really? That gives more variability (resolves deadlocks) but it's still not really 'fair'. The best strategy here is to play the easiest-to-win map. The only incentive to play the more challenging map is the ability to find a game.
