Looking to upgrade however as usual I,m working to a budget http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

My aim is to play il2 series of games with everything maxed out and decent framerate and also be ok for BOB, I know we don't know the specs but there's many a rumour flying around.

My choice of graphics card is out of these 3, which would seem best ?

MSI 7600GT 256mb

ASUS N6800/TD/512M Geforce 6800 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X TVO DVI VGA

XFX 6600GT 128mb 128bit Dual DVI TVO AGP

As I can pick up the MB and chip combination below fairly cheap, once again would it be any good.

thanks for any help and any alternative suggestions be good.
The motherboard and chip above work out at 100 UK pounds and the graphics cards are 70 pounds for the cheapest and 140 pounds the dearest so any suggestions in that price range. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I know in the US at www.monarchcomputer.com (http://www.monarchcomputer.com) you can get a 939-pin mobo\cpu combo for the 100 UK Pounds. The 3500+ and a decent 939-pin mobo can be had. The two items listed below can be had for $175 USD or $93.3 UK Pounds
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Sc...&Category_Code=AMD64 (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=120272&Category_Code=AMD64)

Also, for the 140 UK Pounds at the same place mentioned above, you can get a 7900GT which is a better card than the 7600GT you mentioned.
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Sc...ry_Code=nvidia-PCI-E (http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=190383&Category_Code=nvidia-PCI-E)

Of course the 7600GT KO from eVga can be had for $96 UK Pounds.

I know these guys don't ship across the pond, or even across the border to Canada for that matter. But I would think\hope that you could find a retailer that has similar pricing. If you can swing the 939-pin configuration that would be great. But the 754-pin configuration is still a viable gaming configuration and probably only behind the 939-pin config by around 5% total performance difference.

Yeah, But it basically leaves him nowhere to upgrade in the future. You really must go 939 pin.

AMD has just cut thier prices in half or more. Save a few more pence and get a 939 rig. That way, you will have a MUCH broader upgrade path in the next year or so. You could get a AMD64 3200+ or 3500+ now, then upgrade to a 4000+ sandiego or 4400+X2 in the future.
