SHIV fourms???

UBI hanst even fixed all the bugs in SHIII, nor released an expansion pack for SHIII, and you all feed the lion to SHIV... geeze... keep bending over fellas..

There is no need to change forum names at all. Your current UBI forum account is valid at all UBI forums. I used to post over at the Pacific Fighters forum, as well as Far Cry once in awhile.

Why would UBI bother releasing SH 4 and SH 3 Exp at the same time. For a start it would be commercially suicide. SH 4 is not due for a release untill QTR4 2007. SH 3 will be well and trully worn out by then. If SH 3 Exp is not out in the next 3-6 mths forget it. It ai'nt coming

We will have to run on 1/3 to get all the way there.

The question is what the SH3 expansion would contain and how many customers UBI thinks it would get and if that is worth fighting for shelf space in the stores or selling it only on the internet. An SH3 expansion could be sold but it needs to get out the door soon. I feel 12 - 14 months is the maximum wait for an expansion. If it takes longer then either the community is dead or they expect more after such a long wait that they are too hard to please. So SH3 expansion out the door quick or not at all. The graphics engine can do with some little polishing in the external views but the inside of the boat needs to be ripped out and a completely new work inserted. Except for that it is the ret of the game engine, AI, player software interfaces that need most work and such changes qualify it at SH4. SH4 could be the intended SH3 expansion + some more. I would like the battle of the atlantic one more time and simulated well on all levels. But if it is surface ship combat then we should try the pacific. SH4 could contain unrealistic gaming modes where USA is at war with Russia allready back then, you know, same way as Falcon or Enigma: Rising Tide plays with and twists history. Such gaming modes would be harder to criticise. The accurate simulation of history mode will ofcourse also be there. Also I like some dynamic campaign engine which exaggerates the effects from player actions, you sink 1 merchant then 10 was sunk, you get sunk 9 other friendly uboats die, just so that you feel you affect the war. I am just thinking of how the sim can make more people happy longer time.
