so i have an audigy 2 zs soundcard....

on occasion when i am playing versus and when i die....my sound goes all wacked and screeches in a high pitch tone. The fact that i wear some good headphones with sound on a decent level to hear those bloody invisible proxies (how I can hear one through a wall...but one not behind a corner i dont know) means that when this wacked sound goes through my brain like a brain eating beattle squirming into my inner hear looking for his curd on whey.

Everywhere it says turn off hardware acceleration....but then the sound starts skipping and all sorts of nonsense. SO anyone have any idea for solutions?

that happened to me too once. a nade blew up and i almost went deaf. It only happened to me once thou so i never attempted to solve the problem. either that or you just die alot more often than i do so you have a greater probability of gettin it to happen. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Sometimes, if you die in an area with EAX reverb, you get "EAX Blasted."

Been there, done that. I guess that's another bug to add to the list.

yeah....eax blasted is what it is...and definately comes from the reverb sound effect when u die. Any way to turn it off in the ini files if possible?

Try alt+tab out of the game once you respawn. Then maximise again. It works sometimes.

Also don't turn OFF hardware acceleration. Just turn it down a bit(mine has 4 degrees. I set it to 3).

Happened to me once too when I died in tech room in aqua. Jesus that screeching sound was loud! (I was using headphones)

I suspect if you set DopplerFactor and Rolloff to 0 in the Default.ini you'll get rid of reverb, but then you are nerfing your EAX superman ears http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
