Far Cry 2 Online Code - Not Recognized?

So - I got a copy of Far Cry 2 with my GTX 280 (from EVGA), and I was able to install it using the install key that came in the game. When I try to go online, however, and input my 'Online Key', it doesn't recognize it. In fact, it doesn't accept a code with any 'Numbers' in it. Am I missing something? Did my video card vendor ship Far Cry sans the online capability (and/or code)

Any info appreciated.

When entering the online key use shift to enter capital letters. Also make sure that the number zero isn't mistaken for a capital "o".


Online mode is ok. Gameplay is great but support leaves much to be desired.

When I attempt to type any number when prompted for an online code (during online profile creation), it does not appear in the text box. I think there's another code that needs to be provided / generated. The code I have starts out with 'FC2- . . . ' and again, the '2' is not accepted in the field.

Any additional assistance appreciated. Does support moderate these forums? I wonder if they know?

Retnil already told you what to do. To siMplify it "MAKE SURE CAPS LOCK ISNOT ON"

Some users have also reported that only one of the Numeric Pad and the standard numbers worked, sorry I cant remember which, but you could try whichever you arnt trying now...

I believe it's the standard numbers (the ones across the top of keyboard) that work correctly.

It was the same with Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

hey hey im haven the same issue i got the game from newegg with my 9800 gtx + paper pc sleeve with the key code on the back of it.. it accepted the code when i installed the game but now when i try to activate online it says cd key invalid.. did u ever get urs to work?? and if so how the hell do i do it!!! and yes i keep caps lock off. and used the numbers above my keyboard.. used the dashes and made sure my login name was correct.. thanks for the help.

never mind i figured it out.. when u install the game it makes u use capitals on the code.. when u try to activate it online u have to use non-cap letters all lowercase..

I couldn't get my code right, and then i looked here and it works now THX!
