ngen - the things i just can't do

Abstract Summary: How can I get a list of squadrons available in NGEN (AEP version)? So far I can only get usa01 and was hoping for 303RF (303 RAF). Any idea of polish, RAF squadrons i can use? Do i need to upgrade from AEP to PF to get them?

As an addicted tinkerer I am trying to create an online campaign using NGEN to play with my brother. Game is currently FB+AEP. Will upgrade to PF (he doesnt have it) if the only way.


I would like usually spits but also a sprinkling of russian aircraft on occasion. I want the pilots to shout at me in polish (i dont understand russian).

What I can do so far:
(I was set on my ways with the guide by Yuri Stupchet and searching forum posts by Starshoy so thanks there!)

Historical (sic) campaign now has spitfire Vbs as the most common craft. On occasion escort/patrol a/c are p40 or I153http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif. All randomised by the computer.
The internal codes are 4-bomber, 2-escort, 1 -patrol. The summing of which gives you the plane role so I can decide the bombers at our disposal too.

What I cant do:
Find a polish squadron that wont crash NGEN. Next step down I couldn't get a UK one to work either. So I've had to resort to "usa01". An American squadron! The shame! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
But at least I can understand the complaints from the fellow pilots now http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif


Anyone have any advances on this? I'd love to be able to post up a polish with brits campaign against the germans.

I think there is a NGEN tutorial somewhere. Try airwarfare.com (use the link below and look at teh left hand side of the screen).

Modifying NGEN is tough, but it can be done. It might be easier without PF, but that is a guess.

Well so far I have been able to get the MPD, AI skill level and AI versus options working in the stock CoralSea NGEN mission at the start of the campaign. It took editing of the Coral Sea campaign.dat file. If I can get the list of USN squadrons and IJN squadrons I can make them available. I can get the list by going into the mission builder and wrinting down all the squadrons, but I don;t know if they have codes associated with them like US Army (usa01). The tricky part is going to be getting the Patrol Flights to actually work in addition to the Escort and Attack flights. This may involve editing the mission file which does not have spawn or waypoints generated for the patrol flight. Any info on doing this would be appreciated.

Look for a folder in the game called speech (it may be in a subfolder, I carn't remember) back it up and save to somewhere else, then copy Polish speech files in to all the other subfolders i.e. GB, FR, US GR etc etc
