I am not so good with errors but I'll give you a bump up so others can help.
I would make sure my CD/DVD & ROM are clean, clean my registry of any GRAW files, restart my PC, make sure nothing else is running and begin installation again.
Do a search on google for "Error 6001" and run with that as well... it may not be what you want but at this juncture, nobody else is helping and I'm betting you are jonesing to play the game.
If succesfull, make sure you patch to 1.35 right away. also, read the fine TWEAKS some of the community gurus have done to help the game run smoother.
Good Luck.

cyclic redundancy is usualy either a dirty disc, a dieing CD/DVD drive, or a corrupted bit of data.
so if copying the discs doesn't work, i'd check the CD/DVD drive by copying a differant disc to your HD as a test.
then assume the worst and seek a replacement disc if you can.
the ABSOLUTE worst case scenario is your memory or HD are going bad.....
but i'm not gonna go there, and hopefuly nore shall you have too..
