Having problems with setting up the buttons, I
can't seem to 'Fire' any weapons although the
Joystick steers the aircraft ok..
Help anyone, this is not a good start to my first
day with Lock-On here in the UK.
Cheers

If it is A old MS Sidewinder try flicking the switch on the bottom of the joystick in the center (If you have that model) Or going into the "Imput" area in settings and make sure that the "Sidewinder" is Selected in the pull down menu and assiagn the buttons there.
Good Luck

Sorry, I have the New USB Sidewinder and
although it's listed in the Drop Down Menu
I can't manually assign Buttons or test the
Buttons they are 'Greyed Out'.
helppp
I am using Windows XP Pro and have tested
the Joystick in Hardware Settings Manager
and Calibrated it fine. All the Buttons
work and I have no problems in Microsoft
Flight Sim.
Very Dissapointed....

Also got a problem with the MS FF2, except that mine is that I have no control pressures. The sim works great, graphics are gorgeous and framerates are smooth, but it's unflyable as is. I get FF burble in a vertical stall, accompanied by a push force during the recovery, but as soon as it's flying again there are no control forces at all. Tech support was less than useless, standard "update your drivers, etc BS and when they couldn't come up with a solution (they only tried for a day) they said they would forward the issue to the developers for a patch. Pretty disappointing.

No joy(stick) for me either.
I have a Saitek x45 and I can't map anything beyond what is the defaults...which are silly.

I have the MS FF2 USB joystick and it has no auto center or FF features at all. I realize that every program will have SOME bugs... but to produce a program that does not function with some of the most common controllers is unforgiveable. I have tracked the no Force Feedback issue with Saitek, Microsoft and Logitech users..... what the heck did they beta test with..... Keyboard only??
Sorry for the rant but I feel cheated.
Thanks

This was a know issue in the demo - no fix was applied even thought it was know about.
Guess they don't care if you own a MS FFB2!

This is in reply to all the previous replies to this thread.
Go to the \input folder under lock on and REMOVE the read only file attributes from the joystick files there. You may only need to do this for your particular joystick, but you might as well do it to all of the files in that folder.
Your should be able to map your joystick buttons so they "take" now. Worked for me and an Afterburner II.
I haven't checked yet to see if the game has "other" files that may need the read-only attribute removed...
