View Full Version : Demo Bug Post Thread! (Keep Bumped)

Bugs:
1. I was sitting on a generator and chose the "pierce" action. Sam got down as if to pierce the tank but didn't then an action menu never showed up again for that generator but I was able to pierce later ones. It was the generator in the hall with all the barrels between the 2 stairways.

2.Getting up on ledges looks quite clunky, usually.

3. I grabbed the guard welding as he complained about the fence and he kept complaining as Sam held him in an arm lock complete with lip sync and didn't shut up until he finished his lines. I didn't try interrupting him with the interrogate action. No idea what that'd do.

Inconsistencies:
1. I played through the whole demo once without killing any guards but I knocked out every single one. One guard, I knocked out into a puddle. Wouldn't he drown? He stayed alive. Another I dropped from a great height on to his head. He still was alive. One was the last one at the top of the lighthouse. I grabbed him from behind and knocked him out. Then I dropped him off the lighthouse and he hit the ground and rolled in to the water. He certainly should have died but didn't.

I can imagine that... a guard suddenly grabbed by a foreign agent and a knife is put to his throat, and his life is in great danger of ending all too suddenly... and what does his say? "Open the gate, close the gate, open the gate... and now the gate is broken... stupid place to put a gate anyway" (or whatever)

Oh geez! I'm sorry. It's a PC bug.

P.S. I confirmed the kill on choaking the guard at the lighthouse. So he did die afterall. His body was ice cold... yet I don't think it's counted on the level end stats. Not shown as a kill but it's shown as a knock out.

I was playing the xbox demo last night. I got to the place where the two guys are talking and its before the welder. When i switched to heat vision i would hear thunder. I thought it was ok, that normal lightning had just happened. Turns out every time i switched heat on i could make it thunder... but the sound meter didn't spike up so not too useful

ya, the PC is not built for this demo. That's part of the problem. Also, there has always been that error in past games that the enemies survive under water. However, I once did manage to drown someone...

Ok, here I have a few.

1. I shoot my gun and hear the sound but don't get the animation until like a second or two after. (Very annoying.)

2.I fragged the guard afraid of thunder, and they were still having their conversation.

3. I whistled to neck grab a guard and he just kept walking in place under me.

4. Guards yelling after I kill them.

Hopefully all of these bugs will be fixxed in the final version.

Ok, this is exactly what happens when I shoot the gun. I want to know if anyone else has this problem. Ok, I shoot my SC-20K, and hear the firing sound. But, the animation only occurs when the bullet hits a wall. Like I will shoot at a wall, I hear the fire sound but the recoil, flame from the barrel, and sound hitting the wall all happens at once. Get what I am saying? Gun fire sound, then muzzle flash, bullet hitting the wall, and firing animation all at once. After I hear the gun shoot.

I have one. Once sound reaces a certian volume, it starts to be laded with static whenever there's someone speaking, be it Sam, Lambert, or a terrorist.

This is one i noticed with regards to the zoom function. If it is used in a place where you cant move normally, like at the start when you are sidestepping through the crevice the game will crash. Also I had a problem loading a quicksave where I saved at the entryway of a building. When i tried to backtrack it would crash as if the game were unable to load up an area where I went previously

1. Heat and EMF-vision goes black sometimes, dunno why.
2. The animation of sam cutting morganholt doen resets sometimes if you've attacked the sitting guard first.
3. Hardware softshadows goes haywire and aligns the shadows wrong, sometimes the shadows disappear completely.

Wtf .. keep bump ? This is gonna be locked .. since the demo is not official. It gonna be out soon and a forum will be open. Anyways, The Single Player is ready for shipping .. youll have to deal with the bugs.

I repeat, This is not a BETA its a DEMO. (You dont like it, dont buy the game !)

True. But I think PC is more convienent. But anyways, I talked to Rhoulette, and she said most of these bugs should be fixed in the final version.

oh wait...NO IT CAN'T HAHA!
(all the more reason to fix it up more before release. besides, they aren't making on-line co-op and taking out a buncha things. so that gives them more time for graphics and...uuh what else does ps2 get?)

Yet another.
With one savegame, the game crashed whenever you heard the message from Grim. "Sam, it's Grim-"
Splintercell3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

couple bugs (PC Demo):

1. If I stab someone just after they start saying a line, they will yell and slump to the floor, but will keep talking until the line is done. Just kinda silly. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

2. Often if I save at an area, when I try to advance to the next "portion" of the map, the game crashes. Could be due to my crappy comp that can barely run CT as it is, though.

3. His eyes. I know this may not technically be a bug or glitch and this topic has been beaten to death, but they could, should and probably will fix it.

With that said, ppl need to stop freaking out. This is a DEMO, not the final version at all. We have no idea when this build is from. Could be a month ago, could be a year ago. Not trying to be a fanboy at all, but I believe that Ubi understands the magnitude of the game they are creating, and will do everything they can to make it right for us. well put. They are professionals...and if they've gotten all you people to want to come to there forums because of their past works, I think there is the possibility this coming game will be fine. (...but maybe it wont be! DUN DUN DUUUUN!)
