The checkerboard P-51 skin from AEP

Does anyboday know where the yellow and black checkerboard P-51 skin is? I can't find it in my game for any P-51s, and I am playing the 4.05 merged version of the game.

Is there a replica of it somewhere?

It looks cool on the artwork when the game is turning on, but then is not available in the game.

Any advice?

Sooty has a yellow/black checkerboard P51D over at his site from the 325th FG.

An excellent skin. Sooty's natural metal finish is up there with the best.

Don't know about that mate, but if you are interested in the checkerboard skins then there are more HERE (http://www.gavca.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=48)
for the P51c by Jambock. And over at Flying legends under page 5 of p51 skins there are more for P51B/C by Simec.

All of them first class skins.

Nice skins.

The installer shouldn't delete anything.. i doubt it was ever in the skins folder to begin with, a case of cool art overiding actual content.

Thanks guys. I do love the checkerboard skins. They seem audacious and intimidating. Like "I'm here. And you know it's me. And I want to shoot you down."

And then I looked for it and could not find it as an arming option.

Well, if anyone ever wants to make one like the one on the game opening page, I would be grateful.

The Checkertail skin that was once the default P-51 skin is now available as the default for the P-51-D20 on the non-Pacific QMB maps (Moscow 1, Crimea, Smolensk) ... but ONLY if you choose any air force EXCEPT a U.S. one. This bizarre quirk was introduced back with AEP, I believe.
