cant play vegas 1 anymore?

i just redownloaded vegas 1 from direct download when i purchased it there were a handful of dedicated servers and the game was doing fairly well ...


now i cant even login to the gameservice , it says operation failed when i put in my username and pass . is the game officially dead ? if it is ill be darned if im gonna buy vegas 2 when vegas 1 & 2 could have been combined at least in the maps and have made a much better impression , or a freakin editor released ... so many good maps for ravenshield came out even years after , why not release the editor ?


but my real question is have they gotten rid of vegas 1 online altogether? thanks for any help you can offer!

I haven't tried Vegas 1 in a long time, so cranked it up just to check for you!

The game ran fine (Considering all the bugs and glitches) and I was able to log in without a problem.
Did a search of all modes and found 8 servers total, with a total of 17 players .. 11 on one server.

I got my copy of Vegas 1 free with a video card purchase or wouldn't have it today.

You might try logging in again.
Ubisoft has a history of the master server going down quite often and that would cause your problem.
(I recall it being down as long as 12 hours in the past)
If not, then there is another problem somewhere, but you can forget support from Ubisoft.
Once Ubisoft releases a game, they move on to their next title .. never to be heard from again!!!

There has been no word from Ubisoft on Vegas 2 in nearly 3 months!!

Isn't that a Great Way for a <STRIKE>Large Company</STRIKE> .. Any Company, to do business????????

Another possible cause for the problem is the auto updater... reinstall the game, then update to 1.05, then 1.06... It's a pain in the backside, but that's ubi for ya

I tried just 1.05-1.06 and it still didn't work.
If reinstalling, then 1.05 and 1.06 doesn't work, try reinstalling then installing each patch (1.01 thru 1.06) one by one.
That's the only thing that worked for me.
