Do you consider yourself an Optimist (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Optimist&x=14&y=15) or a Pessimist (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Pessimist&x=12&y=14)?

Optimist here. I always like to see the best in things. Exception to the rule would be SvM and Halo though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I'm generally an eternal optimist .. but as DH mentioned, there are exceptions to the rule http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I consider myself as an Optimist but I will tell you the trust no matter what, so sometimes people think I am begin negative (or a pessimist) but I am really just giving it to you directly, with no sugar.

NSA, you're an engineer?
An optimist believes we live in the best of all possible worlds. A pessimist fears this is true.
It is impossible for an optimist to be pleasantly surprised.
I am naturally pessimistic by nature. Have no idea why. Thanks for posting this seifer. Its a good poll http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
See it this way, as a pessimist, I am never disapointed

I was just saying I am an Optimist but come across negative sometimes because I and tell people the trust and they think I being negative.

most people (or at least optimists) consider realism to be the same as pessismism...

Not true. Realism is looking at things realistically, whether that be optimistically or pessimistically depends on the situation. Looking at things realistically does not always mean that I look at things pessimistically.

I agree. I tend to be a realist as well, but it all depends on how you look at things, which is where the original saying came from.
An optimist thinks the glass is half full.
A pessimest thinks the glass is half empty.
An engineer thinks the glass is too big.
An alcoholic thinks he needs a refill.
