Do you consider yourself an Optimist (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Optimist&x=14&y=15) or a Pessimist (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Pessimist&x=12&y=14)?

Optimist here. I always like to see the best in things. Exception to the rule would be SvM and Halo though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I'm generally an eternal optimist .. but as DH mentioned, there are exceptions to the rule http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I consider myself as an Optimist but I will tell you the trust no matter what, so sometimes people think I am begin negative (or a pessimist) but I am really just giving it to you directly, with no sugar.

NSA, you're an engineer?
An optimist believes we live in the best of all possible worlds. A pessimist fears this is true.
It is impossible for an optimist to be pleasantly surprised.
I am naturally pessimistic by nature. Have no idea why. Thanks for posting this seifer. Its a good poll http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
See it this way, as a pessimist, I am never disapointed

I was just saying I am an Optimist but come across negative sometimes because I and tell people the trust and they think I being negative.

all these dumb optimists and their polls.... oo, let's make the world change by signing a petition, maybe we can do something! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
pessimist all the way man!
11-03-2004, 12:45 PM
Im a pessimist, I always seem to find that bad in a situation.
11-03-2004, 12:49 PM
Seifer thanks for the clarity, I think. Now I get what you were saying, but that last sentence threw me off too...

Neither, I consider myself a realist.
11-04-2004, 03:32 AM

most people (or at least optimists) consider realism to be the same as pessismism...
11-04-2004, 09:55 AM
Not true. Realism is looking at things realistically, whether that be optimistically or pessimistically depends on the situation. Looking at things realistically does not always mean that I look at things pessimistically.
11-04-2004, 10:22 AM
I agree. I tend to be a realist as well, but it all depends on how you look at things, which is where the original saying came from.
An optimist thinks the glass is half full.
A pessimest thinks the glass is half empty.
An engineer thinks the glass is too big.
An alcoholic thinks he needs a refill.

i honestly think that if it's not finished, finish the drink then argue... but whatever http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

there's far more scotch in that glass than can fit in that bottle.
11-04-2004, 04:51 PM
i noticed that, but maybe u can assume that is his last bottle, and that he threw the rest behind him...
11-05-2004, 11:10 AM
optimist. but not 'hppy fun time' optimistic, more of a mello, whatever-ist.
i cant stand to see blood, yet i can handle bloody games for some reason.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
11-05-2004, 11:15 AM
