Well, it seems that everyone really wants to see mroe flyable aircraft in an add-on or as a new game in the future. But you have to remeber, that burned copies you give to friends obviosly dont get counted on the sales record fro Ubi. So i dont think 40 or 50 bucks, or whatever will break too many people. So you wanna see more games mike this, ya gotta spend the cash.

With big games from EA or something, I really don't care. But I take these flightsims damn seriously, I don't juarez them or give them out. This is a very good point, support lo-mac people, our hobbie is on the brink of extinction.

Excellent words. If the first copy of LOMAC is as I believe it will be, I will buy another whole copy to help sales and to have an extra. If a sim is that good, I want to make sure if something goes wrong with the first, there is a backup.

I am glad to see people realizing that the Combat Jet Flight Sim genre is slowly dying off. Only we can save it by bringing in new blood and treating them with respect, no matter how old they are, or how they come across. Answering a question you have seen a thousand times and know the answer to with an assholish answer is just driving people away. For those who can't understand that, enjoy the crash and the 3 and 4 year old sims. For those that do, we have to step up and drown those people out that aren't representing the hobby well.

Just my opinion.

good points. I think that the idea of buying another copy is a noble gesture, however, would it make any difference?

There is a thread elsewhere were Carl made a great post regarding the future of simulations, check it out.

Actually, whilst I am here - Carl, would it make a blind bit of difference if a few people bought additional copies? (not talking thousands etc - but perhaps enough to try and make Ubi feel that the genre is worth pursuing).

On a final note, it saddened me to see a poll of Falcon 4 users who think that the company producing Falcon 5 would not be able to do it ! WTF - talk about no confidence, it must be terrible for the developers, even to have your own community doubting you.

Hell yeah, I sincerely hope pirating does not affect this game, and if any of you out there want this game and accept a pirated copy, just remember you are killing the genre. The only copy I may make is so I can frame the original. Hell maybe Ill just buy two copies......

Yes I think Pirating is one of those things people know is wrong but think its ok to do since "everyone else" is doing it. I've had friends of mine offer me pirated games and without fail they look at me as if im a complete idiot for not taking the game. I try explain my take on it, sometimes they listen most times not.

Most people who disagree with it remain silent about it and look the other way. I'm not saying turn in your buddys but at least explain to the next friend who offers you free software why you think its wrong. Thats about all you can do but you never know you might make one honest man out of a hundered.

I suppose it all comes down to wether or not your the type of person who thinks they are intited to take something you have not paid for. I like to think most people are still are honest.

I can honestly say i will download a pirate version of LOMAC as soon as it is released. Don't flame me yet.

Since i live in sweden most games besides BIG games (ie DOOM3, UT2003, NHL2003 etc etc) aren't released until maybe a month or so later. Well it depends but in most cases i get new games downloaded about a month+ earlier than i see them in the shelves.

I will though buy LOMAC as soon as i see it in the shelves, no doubt about that. I've done this with the games i really feel are worth it in one way or another, be it the love for the game or say i can't play multiplayer with a pirate-version. But i don't feel bad at all when downloading a game i KNOW will sell like coca-cola on a hot day.

I understand as I live at the bottom of the world (NZ), but Im going to refrain and just play the demo until I get a full copy - I just dont want to support those who pirate this game fullstop, I will admit I have accepted pirate versions of games before, but never with a game I truelly love, ie: I never ever obtained a pirated copy of Mechwarrior - even though MS now makes it!

Hey Stormin do you know what the wait may be for those in the far reaches of the world like slaken in Sweden and me in New Zealand for Lo-Mac.

Anyway cheers to all those making this fine product for all the effort.

Buying multiple copies of Lo-Mac would most definitely increase the revenues for UBI, and move this product forward to add-ons. The simple math will tell you that two copies sold to one person doubles the revenues to UBI per copy sold. This would be a huge difference.

Is this considered false interest? Perhaps. The question that must be answered is, "what do you do with the extra copy that you bought?". The answer to this question should be, "Give it away to a non-flight simmer who plays other types of PC games". While you do this, you explain the scalability of the game, and show him what types of graphics to expect from the game.

Now, you and this new person, possibly become supporters of Lock-On future products. The false interest spoke of ealier is completely eliminated and replaced by a new supporter.

We definitely have to cater to non-hardcore flight simmers. Hard-core flight simmers are not a big enough group of people to support a game that takes so much time and effort to create. Keep this in mind when you are doing your Christmas shopping this year.

I could use this topic to do a research project in my MBA program in the future possibly.
