As you guys might have noticed, I have not been skinning for a very long time now, the reason for that is that I am waay too busy with other stuff right now, more like movie-making and stuff like that.

I must say that the skinning community has always been nice to me, and it has changed my life, and made me the local expert on graphical design http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I started skinning when I had just turned 12 years old, and doesnt that make me the youngest skinner of all time? Well at least in a period of about 1,5 year, I had gotten 21.000 downloads at http://www.il2skins.com, and it felt great!http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now I know that I have some skins in progress, but it doesn't seem like I have the time to finish them all.

Now if anyone is interested in my 2 (?) skins in progress, a polished aluminium Seafire and an "avirex metal"-style Seafire, feel free to contact me at

I would also be glad to teach people my technique for making metal loook nice, reflective and polished.

God knows, maybe I'm back at the skinning community when BoB comes out.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

P.S - No don't make you the youngest skinner, I started slightly before I was 12 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In fact Tore I may well join you, I have had to put up with grief on here sticking up for some people and I have come to a similar decision, I just don't need it anymore............ Therefore I may finish the work I have on the go and then walk away from it all.............. Its been a blast and a pleasure to bring pleasure to you all that have downloaded my skins...., but at least I can hold my head up high, I haven't sold out like a lot of skinners did when IL2Skins.com dissapeared and have continued to try to upload for the benefit of the rest of you............. But several reasons and some usage of sections of my skins are probably a deciding factor............... will sleep on it but I feel the ones i have on the go may well be my last.................... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Hello I16Fan,

Aww c'mon! Don't leave the skinning scene. You'll be missed by many of your fans. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Including myself. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Or at least go out in style with 2 amazing Seafire templates. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif After all I did request the Avirex style Seafire template. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif But if you don't I'll have to curl up in a ball in a corner & cry. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif Good luck with your movie making career. Hope to see back when BoB is released. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif =S=

P.S. TonyT,we don't need to lose another talented skinner like yourself. All your great & unique skins will be missed. But whatever your decision is,thank you for your work! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif =S=

Well, a small miracle might happend, which might make me finish the seafires, but be prepared to wait a while for that to happend...

I'm not saying that I'm leaving the forums, just leaving skinning, I will still be here and do my best to help people and comment other skins. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

By the way, on July 6th, I think, me and a couple of movie-maker-friends will start shooting a world war 2 movie, just can't wait, and of course all of you will be able to see the final product. We are going to use 3 real rifles, 1 mosin nagant and 2 mausers, we are also going to use 1 or 2 Panasonic DVX100 cameras, great stuff http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I just started teaching my 10-year old stepson how to make skins. He (OK, maybe that should be a 'we') may have something to publish in a week or so. Skills learned at a young age like that can last a lifetime!

Sad news, indeed, about I16fan and Taylortony! It's good to hear you're at least going to stick around the forums to help others, though. I'm getting ready to open a site for tutorials (not just skinning, but will mainly be skinning at first). If either of you would be interested in contributing some lessons, tips or other bits of skinning lore, please send me a PM.

Ok guys hang in there don't leave!!! It took us many countless of hours to get were we are (not me - you guys - it took me longer).

Well, for what it's worth, I'm not leaving but somehow I just can't see everyone flying B25s!

Help don't leave!!!!

Yeah guys don't leave the community - or maybe just set yourself some time away from it Tony. Give yourself a chance to miss it a little, I don't make many public skins (mine are mostly for squad stuff only) but you work has taught me some valuable lessons in skinning and I know how much I would miss it if I HAD to stop doing it. Take some R & R from it, get some ideas and after a while you can get back into it full steam. Sorry that you have been made to feel this way about skinning - chin up mate!
