I've been having an itch on learning to play a new instrument lately. Though I don't know what exact instrument to play yet. I already know how to play a few instruments such as, the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar and drums. The violin has always been something I've been wanting to learn for a while, so I think that's my next challenge. If you could learn to play a musical instrument, what would you play?

I've always wanted to learn how to play the harp or the guitar.
I know my roommate just got her hands on a ocarina, maybe I'll try that! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I'd suggest Keyboard/Piano, mix in some electronic music production with Reason or Ableton Live and you'd pretty much be a one-woman band.

I have been playing the violin for almost 10 years. It's fun, but not easy to do on your own lol I was lucky to have a good teacher.
Anyway, I've always wanted to be amazing at the piano...

I always wanted to learn the piano (and by extension the keyboard) ever since I saw Groundhog's Day as a kid and Bill Murray was impressing people at a party randomly.

I've always thought the piano would be the best instrument to learn. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the "most" beautiful instrument, but its potential range of music (expanded by digital enhancement, as has been noted, to an almost infinite domain) far exceeds anything else. For me it's always been a toss-up between the piano's diversity and the guitar's portability -- since you've already got the guitar down, I'll say piano ^_^

I used to play the Clarinet and the Sax. I was a band geek http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif They were both pretty easy to learn, and they make some of my favorite sounds. I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar, and I got one for Christmas several years ago. But I just kept putting it off. Wish I hadn't, I might be pretty decent at it by now had I taken my lessons

I am currently learning to play the guitar. Both Acoustic and Electric. Both are pretty different also.
I have always wanted to learn to play the Sax also.

I'm like, the weirdest asian on the block. My parents never put me up on any violin or piano classes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
That said, I've always been musically inclined, and I WISH I took lessons for any of those instruments when I was young. There'd be times when I'd just sit down and play songs by ear on the piano - and it would make me wish I can properly play chords.
However, it does seem like music is in the future! My parents sent me a ukelele for a souvenir gift while they vacationed in Hawaii for the holidays. And my sister gave me an accoustic guitar for Christmas (as if to imply that she's going to give me lessons, too):

I took lessons for the mandolin for a year in the Philippines, before moving here, so I have SOME experience with a stringed instrument.
Here's in good hopes I learn one or the other (maybe both) in this new year. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Wow that's really cool! That's a good New Years Resolution for ya http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. The guitar has always been my favorite instrument out of all of them. Easy to play plus its a good base to start on stringed instruments, if you want to continue learning others...

I loved playing guitar, and I still do. I think I enjoy playing bass more now, but I still hold a special place in my heart for my guitars. I'd really love to play the cello, though. I love the cello... such a soothing sound.
Also I played the trumpet for a couple of years as a kid.
