First of all I must say that I haven't been following the thread called "so salad anyone".
Second, I have to admit that I'm not a vegetarian.
There are plenty of reasons a person might have for choosing to be a vegetarian. They may be health related, may be caring for the animal rights, etc, and I respect all of them and I respect that person's choice.
But if your main motivation for becoming a vegetarian is caring for the animal's rights, then your on the right path, but that is not enough.
You see, we not only obtain food from animals, but also raw materials, namely furs and leathers. We use those materials for clothing, foot-wear, purses, wallets, belts, and much more.
If you really want to help animals, you have to change more than just your feeding habits.
I hope I'm not offending anyone by saying this, and I hope I don't start a flame war. I think this is a delicate topic that might upset a lot of people.
But think about this ok?
(bitebug2003, if this gets out of hand because of me, I just want to say in advance "I'm sorry")

I don't think you have offended anyone. You just come with your opinion. I'm doing this because I
1) care for animals
2) want to try not eating meat for a while because..hmm...I just want to http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
But I understand what you're saying, and we can't all stop eating meat, because then there would be to little food in the world...

First oof all, yeah bitebug2003, I hope we aren't breaking any rulez here.
Second, right you are EdgarMarques. I don't wear fur, cause, well, it's too hot in here to wear it. Lol! The only thing animal in my closet is silk robes obtained from silkworms, that's all.

I don't use leather and I don't use fur. Actually, I'm very much against it...
So I'm an animal friend http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Ray and Emilie (Sandwraith2005, and yenoh) didn't just do it for a week, but are going for another! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Hats off to you two. You both have guts! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

if i went veggie for a week, the chances i would manage to survive without tuna and mayonaise with sweetcorn sandwiches is very small, so i won't try... *takes a big bite out of a tuna and mayonaise with sweetcorn sandwich* i don't know how vegitarians can manage without tuna and mayonaise sandwiches... but who knows...
