I know this is probably a waste of forum space, but on the off-chance that things have somehow miraculously changed for the better around here and Ubi has begun answering the most basic questions with simple straightforward truthful answers, I ask on behalf of the competitive team vs. team multiplayer PC demographic:

1. Will there be TRUE SADS (please don't make me define it, you know what I mean)?

2. Will there be FULL remote server admin capability?

3. Will there be PB support?

If the answer to any of these questions is "No", then this game will have no chance whatsoever of being suitable for organized competition, and me and other like-minded individuals will probably go away and leave you alone until the next unfulfilled promise is announced. Thank you in advance for your honest anwers.

I wish you the best of luck in trying to get answers. I remember being the one to ask similar questions for Vegas regarding the PC version before it came out and I NEVER got an answer. I even bumped my own post practically every day hoping that the Devs would throw us something but they continued to only answer Xbox related questions.

Well now they've even given up on that, so don't get your hopes up.

Ok... what's SADS and PB?

SADS is Stand Alone Dedicated Server.

It is normally a program that will run without the need of a high end graphics card and usually should be able to run on Linux as well as Windows. Either way they need to be able to be run on server farms with administration options.

PB is Punkbuster which is used to keep people from cheating.

Thanks, I don't really expect an answer but I had to ask anyway (get the question on the record if nothing else). I was there with you but most of my posts on the subject were lost after the mysterious forum crash that miraculously wiped out about a month's worth of complaints and criticisms. Real convenient for Ubi at the time. Not so much so for the consumer as usual.

Bump for moderators or game developers. I was a big fan of the first R6LV but the server control was a killer for my clan and potential clients for my business. I don't mind uploading all of the game files to run a dedicated server but the lack of admin control is going to be a killer for dedicated servers. The Punkbuster web tool would clean out half of the server when you tried to kick/ban 1 player so it was not a viable option.

You got more chance of the earth freezing over than getting real SADS !! And this wont out sell or be better than COD 4 on the Pc Tom Clancy franchise is DEAD for the Pc Gamer.

Seeing as how the PC community made the SADS you have for Vegas 1 I don't see ubi releasing anything for Vegas 2 unless they can rippoff the community again.

I am not concerned about having SADS since most new games require the entire game install. COD4 requires 6 GB of files on the server to run so uploading all of the files is nothing new. Although SADS are nice since you don't have to upload anything to the server, they are not a make or break issue for me.

What concerns me is if there will be any admin rcon commands? Without the ability to control the dedicated server it is of little use.

Just checking back, but from the deafening roar of silence I assume the answer is "no" to at least 2 out of 3.

I doubt they will give an answer till after the 360/PS3 version comes out. Seems the PC version will be delayed a few weeks after their release.

I hoping there will be, I stayed away from the PC version of vegas 1. I played it on my 360 and it was fun but not to my Old School likeing. If I have problems with this PC version I end up returning it and give up on this rb6 for good. Ubi has dropped the soap big time for the game and alot of people who where here for the first one will likly do the same. I not going to get into the whole old school or new run and gun player debate as it has been done to many times and got no where. But i can say for both side it would be nice to have these tool and for ubi for once to actualy listen to they people that are keeping your company afloat.

Hopefully they include those things in the game this time. I have been here watching people ask for it for a long time and UBI just ignores it.

Maybe they will actually include basic features as well? Features like being able to have custom server names, being able to spectate, being able to password a server, being able to type without fear of the text not disappearing, etc, etc...
