You mods are WAY to heavy handed. Banning people who criticize you, banning people for saying things you dont like. Banning people for knowing about things before you do and posting it on the board....The way you moderators treat people on this forum isn't very ... respectful.
We can talk, but we can't criticize. We can discuss, but only about things YOU approve of. Step out of line and a Mod is sure to ban you. Sounds kinda like a small group of folks from the 40's that didn't like people who disagreed with them either. That's not how you should be treating the people who support and promote and play your product.
Your ways are coming back to bite you now, and you don't like it. Keep treating your friends and customers like this... and you're going to find yourselves on the same level as the Dixie Chicks. Getting your discs burned and broken by the very base you were striving to retain.
Who knew Star Wars could be quoted here? "The more you tighten your grip, the more people will slip through your fingers."
I too have just come back from EB with my 3 prepaids for GRAW 2.
I hope you're listening now.

There are several things wrong with this post.
First, Rainbow Six: Vegas is not the moderators' product. The mods on these boards voluteer their time and energy into keeping these boards as idiot-free as possible.
Second, they are buyers of UBI's product just like we are. They have just as many, if not more, concerns as we do. They do not lock topics because of criticism. They lock topics because of people being ignorant and disrespectful.
Third, what do you propose we stand up and do? This is (like they have said before) UBI's forum. They have the liberty to run it as they please.
That's all.
PS - The game Devs do have moderating privaleges but we usually don't call them Mods. We call them Devs. They are usually the ones that come off sounding like jerks. The Mods are very agreeable people actually.

I'm personally sick of seeing all the people complaining and spreading misinformation and abusive comments. Posts like this one are exactly the kind that will get locked, they contribute nothing to the forum and merely incite anger and hostility toward Ubisoft. You realize you're on a Ubisoft forum right? People post anti-Ubisoft comments on a Ubisoft owned forum and don't expect to get banned? And its not what you say as much as how you say it, and there's a lot of people doing a lot of talking in a really childish fashion.

I'll take that criticizim.
In my understanding of where the mods here land on the totem pole in the ubi corprate culture, they're pretty much at the bottom, like the guy guarding their lobbies. I know that the devs are different.
My main point is that people on this forum routinly get banned, and honestly for stuff thats not all that serious. But the call to unban that other guy.. that would have been fine had it come from someone other than himself. Fine, ban him for that. But damn.. the guy posted info. In this day and age... you guys are screaming for info, the guy gives it, you yell at him because he wont back it up and you ban him.
Thing is, if he DID have an inside source... how's he supposed to say that without getting fired or worse? he cant. It's a catch 22, and it all goes to the favor of Ubi, not us. Sure.. post your back up sourcebut you'll get fired. or dont and you get banned.
Either way, I think that the rules of moderation here need to be looked at. Why should I have to worry every time i post whether or not Im going to get banned?

Exactly what about my post was abusive or spreading misinformation? Please.. back it up.

Look...my whole point.. is that the way this forum gets run reflects badly on Ubi. I got no beef with the mods. I talk to GSG9 on occasion and I see nightfox all the time poking fun at things. (tin foil hat anyone?)
But when a Dev comes and bans someone for whatever reason they have, it better be good because most of us can see through the smoke and mirrors. We all agree that Ubi is really sucking hind foot with cust srv right now. The last thing they need is to generate more ill will by banning people over ... nothiing. It's just words on a forum. I havent seen too many people on here who were banned that did something REALLY inflamitory.
Most people.. you, me, kimi, nightfox, trouble.. etc.. all the users here... we all agree that we want ubi to be better than they are. Its frustrating for us to see ubi slide down the slope its on, and it wont take our advice or help.

I think you should boycott the forum and the game itself to show your disapproval. Walk away from both, that'll show 'em. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Or he could've just shut up about it. Honestly, there is a million threads about the DLC. I think they banned him because he kept making threads about it, saying he was "official", and spreading (what was at the time) rumor. Not only that, but he didn't back up his source... If he can't back up his source, then his word should be taken as rumor... if he isn't allowed by his source to reveal the source, he should keep his mouth shut.
Simple.

I think you're refering to a certain Dev, and maybe one mod. All the rest on these boards are really good people that agree with most of the old gen Rainbow croud.

Yes, being unjustly banned from a message board and having a few threads locked is equivalent to being randomly detained, executed by Secret Police, and shipped off to death camps.
I undrstand what you were trying to say, but why does everybody who experiences even the slightest "injustice" feel they are on par with people target by the Nazi regime?

For someone who complains about a lack of constructive threads, you seem to be posting alot of negative and non constructive posts lately. Not a flame, but you might want to follow your own words of advice if you want people to take you seriously. Thanks.

Actually I think he meant the Nazis. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And Seipher05 is right, too many people associate the two when they are nowhere near as bad. It is a unhappy truth, but freedom of speech does not follow us everywhere. I don't like it, but it is the rules of this forum. I don't always agree with the rules, or those enforcing them, but you want to post, you follow the rules.

I'm just not going to take all of these threads seriously. I don't ask that all threads be constructive. However, having *14* posts on the first page about the DLC is ridiculous. If you're going to ask about it, criticize about it, at least keep it in just a few threads.
I agree, people are allowed to post their opinions here. Including me. However, when I do that I get accused of either being a Ubi employee or trying to be a mod (neither of which are true). Just like happens to this guy in this thread:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3571084024/m/3561070645
I'm fine with people disagreeing with me, and I can agree to disagree on subjects. However, I'll post an opinion here, just like you agree I can, when I see fit to do so. Just because I don't take all of this as seriously doesn't mean that I can't post as well. At least I don't start a new thread I want to say the same thing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I have been there myself, you can see in the link above. I am just as frustrated as you are about people posting the same stuff over and over again. I have been accused of kissing up to be a mod as well. Welcome to the club right? I just think people need to stop letting themselves stoop to the level of some of the obnoxious posters and show they are sincere by keeping their posts constructive. That's all. We may not agree always, but I am always open minded to read a constructive post. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Thanks.
