I gotta say, I was a very big supporter of this game in the beginning, and all the way up unitl this latest update. The update is great in-game, but the hosting end was a joke. Luckily we have some PC savvy guys around or there wouldnt be ANY servers. The documentation was half done, and they left out local control.

Their servers keep crashing even after the update, disconnecting everyone in the middle of a game. Before the update, it stuck our high $$ equipment in an infinite loading loop where our HDD's would run for hours if we were unable to check it.

Now, obviously something has been changed in their server without so much as a peep from anyone.

A LITTLE WARNING WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

Seriously, whoever is in charge of customer support is collecting a paycheck for sleeping apparently.

For every one person that complains here, there are probably 1000 more saying the same things. I see nothing but complaints in the lobbies of MP games, mostly about server issues and Ubi's enral lack of support and communication to its (used to be) loyal customers.

You can cook me the finest steak in the world, but if the waiter throws it down on the table and walks away without a word, I highly doubt I will want to come back for more.

Me thinks that they are done with it. I just re-installed a PC, and when I put FC2 back on it, with patch 1.03, it never asked for the activation key, and it plays fine in single player and multi-player.

I did a clean install and wiped the disk, and did not restore anything. I guess it is possible they kept my machine finger print on the UBI servers. I figured I was going to loose an activation, since my machine went belly-up and could not revoke one prior to the install.

Who knows...

Yeah they removed the DRM from the game with patch 1.03, so I guess now you have no worries of revoking activation. I am guessing they did his because the game is already considered a huge failure by most, and new game sales Im sure have come to a grinding halt. So their direct influx of $$ from the game is now over. I guess this would make it so those who try to get pirated versions arent really cutting into Ubi's profit margin anymore. At this point, pirating will probably help the game continue to be played.

**** I HATE STEALING AND THIEVES. I WOULD NEVER PIRATE A GAME NOR WOULD I BUY A PIRATED COPY NOR WOULD I SUPPORT PIRATING IN ANY WAY. AGENT00KEVIN DOES NOT SUPPORT ENDORSE OR OTHERWISE PARTICIPATE IN ANY ELECTRONIC PIRACY.

just to make that clear. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, I an say I have noticed an increase in replies from Mods and such here as of late. Maybe they have finally realized that communication is key. maybe had we had PROPER communication from the get go many people would have stayed with the game.

So, I say THANK YOU to Black Widow and Brimtown and Kimi. They seemed to have stepped up the replies, and I saw a couple warnings that we shouldt expect answers on the weekend. This is exactly what we need, and I for one am grateful for the increase in communication.

Well, you are coorect with those two mods, but sorry - concerned to Kimi she made just two posts (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=userposts&u=28510742&p=1) in FarCry2 forum during last month and even she got for sure some other things to do, I would expect to see her here much more often to call it "increasing communication ". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
But ok, maybe you are right and she we will be back soon, I really looking forward for that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

You must understand that after we received the great tool from MChat our group turned that game back on in the Server and then BOOM the patch came out 1-2 weeks later and we have not played since.
Now we are preparing for the Summer fall releases of ArmA2 (UK players already waiting on Sparta Server)and OPFdr so to make room Im sure we will delete the entire game from our box.

Well it was nice while it lasted but maybe UBI will give us a nice GhostRecon4 and we will come back to her.

It's all good and fine that they start the communication, but it's too LATE! A game should receive intense support the first 2 months of release, after that - small community feedback related patches to balance some little problems.

But with FC2 they released it and that was it, no communication, patches took AGES and just a video where they ordered a producer to answer obvious questions. Ubisoft needs to learn a lot about how to care about a community, for me it seemed they don't give a f*** about their game and community, just minimal effort and of course hype and charging 5 bucks for a bag of hot air called "Fortunes Pack" Sry but Ubi$oft lost a lot of respect with the care of FC2, this is how you should NOT do it, they should take some lessons from Valve, they know how to roll.
