View Full Version : Can somebody (ideally official?) confirm which ports should be forwarded please?

As I'm sure is the case with most other people (including IGN (http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/108/1087205p1.html)), I can't get any sort of multiplayer working, either using an invite in a private match or through the matchmaking system (assuming of course such a thing exists).
I've seen a few comments saying that port forwarding needs to be done, however I can only find one place that lists what these ports actually are (http://segmentnext.com/index.php/2010/04/30/splinter-cell-convicion-errors-crashes-install-problems-freezes-fixes/).
It lists them as the following:
9103, 9100, 10196 (UDP outbound/inbound)
80, 3081, 3105 (TCP outbound)
22350 – 22380 (TCP inbound)
Can anybody confirm whether these are actually correct, or whether any port forwarding is actually required at all? I've set the above ports to be forwarded on my router, but I'm still unable to get any multiplayer games going.

This is a repost from Ubisoft tech support originally posted here: Splinter Cell Conviction Ports (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7211014258/m/3231025758)

If you have a router in your home network, please make sure that you have the latest firmware installed for that device. Your router manufacturer should be able to help you complete this update.
- In addition, the following ports will need to be open in your router or any firewall software you may be running:
9103, 9100, 10196 (UDP outbound/inbound)
80, 3081, 3105 (TCP outbound)
22350 - 22380 (TCP inbound)
If you are unsure of how ports work, the best course of action may be to contact your router manufacturer, system administrator or ISP for more information.

For COOP, do both Players have to open their ports? Or just the host.

It should be unnecessary for people to go opening up ports to play a game, 90% of players won't know how to do it anyway. Just look at Chaos Theory, impossible to play because most people don't know how to open ports, and even if they knew it still wouldn't work.

It's a game bug. I wonder if it works at all. I've seen no one post a "but it works for me" or a "I'm currently playing" post.
When I trie to search for or create a match it doesn't work either. All necessary ports are forwarded, my firewall is set to ignore the game (no file, port or process of the game is being blocked or watched). So it's not me.
Ubisoft is better working on a fix for this...

Yeah i got the same problem. I can connect to the servers but my friend cant join my game and i cant join his. Only bought the game for the Multiplayer aspect of the game (although the single player was good) which i cant play. lol. Came here for answers but looks like its not just us.
