Hi

Basically I intend to buy FC2, but whether I get it on the PC or Xbox 360 is down to how well it will run on my PC, if it will run well I will buy it for that. If not, the 360 version it is.

Here is my spec:

Intel Dual-Core E2180 @ 3GHz
2GB DDR2 Ram (I usually have about 1.6GB free as other programs/tasks take up memory)
Radeon HD3850 256MB (PCI-E)
Gaming resolution: 1280x1024
Windows XP OS

How well do you think it would run on this system? Would I be able to get it looking as good as the 360 version, maybe a bit better? I understand my graphics card is probably the downfall as it only has 256MB memory but I generally play games at a low resolution (1280x1024). Which version would I be better off buying in terms of graphics quality?

Thanks for your help.

i bet u can max it at that res but maybe less AA or AF.

u should look for the benchmark results of far cry 2 and your GPU. google it or search the forums. it exists.

I'd say you may possibly be able to go to medium. Whether that looks better than the xbox version I don't know. I would have thought so.

Honestly I think the only real advantage of buying it on the PC is the cheaper price and the easier Map Editor controls.

The rest is all far better for console (Xbox 360).

So, I'd say go for the 360. Its dearer, but the gameplay is better, and also the map editor is just as easily controllable.

I don't want to get into arguments about controls. I'll just say that a controller is inferior as a pointing device for first person shooters.

PC version has a good possibility for user mods, this includes things seen in games like STALKER, free roam, no respawns, harder, easier, change in weapons etc.

PC is the way to go, that PC should run it med-high which is basically 360 graphics anyway.

Everytime I have to ask myself which system to get it on PC, 360, or PS3 I just ask myself a couple questions. 1 which version has more options (for FC2 all equal), What system has the larger player pool for MP (it looks pretty close between the PC and the 360), and the most important is which version will my friends buy (no sense in buying a game that you won't have anyone to play with). Granted if you're buying the game completly for single player I would go in the PC direction, if you want MP as well just ask yourself those 3 questions.
