Alright, I went on this forum because I am a loyal fan of Rainbow 6, I love the game, but I ran into a problem. Yes the online play problem. So yes, for now its screwed up, but all I see is everyone bashing Ubisoft and RS62, it's ridiculous!

The game isnt bad. You should have realized its going to be a RSV 1.5 from the start, it was intended to be!
Yes, we all love Vegas 1, so they decided to add smoother graphics/gameplay, make new maps, add new weapons, fix up terrorist hunt and AI, add the new ACES system, enable offline ranking up (brilllliant...), add sprinting, make a better online matchmaking system, let you play terrorist hunt alone while waiting for more players, and make the game overall better and funner. Whats so wrong with that?

Yeah, its similar to Vegas 1, but all "2"s are. COD 2-COD3, TimeSplitters 2-TS-3, Halo 1-Halo 2, etc etc etc etc. How different are they? Not much. It was obvious it was going to be a better Vegas 1.


So on to the horrible problem. Yeah, online play is practically impossible, and the friends menu freezes a lot, etc etc, I know, Im mad about it to. Lets not bash everything Ubisoft has done because they made one mistake. They ARE going to fix it, they couldnt get away with not.
Now, if its two months later and were still not playing, THEN COMPLAIN!! Give them a week, okay? Call them up, email them, do whatever, dont be immature.



And if no unlimited respawns in Attack and Defend and no dead-person Voice hurts you that much, maybe you need to stop buying games and buy a violin. Grow up.

I don't understand why they would put out the game... with the issues being this bad... they should have pushed it back. Many people bought the game solely to play online... For those people the game is a complete waste... So they are probably frustrated and making posts to get answers... There is no reason Ubisoft should have closed their support offices for "Good Friday" WWJD Ubisoft???????? At my job if there is a problem, we stay until it is resolved. That being said, I, and others, just want the problems resolved so we can play the game.

Most people cant get into any games and usually crash a game after finally joining one. Its annoying, but it sounds quite resolvable.

I won't play single player. I don't find that fun, and it's not what I purchased the game for. I don't understand why there isn't just a note in my Xbox live inbox from Ubisoft saying,

"We apologize for the unconscionably poor performance of RB62 online. We anticipate fixing it by Tuesday."

To not say anything and force people to come on here and create net accounts just to find solutions and then find out that there are no solutions... is the reason why people are (legitimately) pissed off and ranting... This is a massive failure...

This isn't to start a console war, but these problems y'all illustrate are one of the big problems now with consoles offering MP gameplay and attributes normally found only in PC games. With consoles, games that need patching have to hae the patches made then the patches need to be sent to the console manufacturer to be certified (just like the game has to be) by said manufacturer. This can translate into long waits to have said games fixed. This is unlike PC games where the devs just have to test the patch out and zip it up and post it on their website to distribute it.

Developers and publishers could avoid that if they tested the games enough prior to sending them off to be certified. Remember, console games, prior to XBox and XBox Live pretty much never seemed to have the problems y'all face now.

Yes I expect to have some problems with new games but the game being basically completely unplayable online is more than just a little problem...

I am not saying that you shouldn't complain. I just know that Ubi will use the same words that they have been using for the last 4 years at least. "We are looking into it" is a favorite phrase on all of Ubi's forums. Take it with a grain of salt when you express your displeasure.

I do agree if there were minor bugs that you should complain.

But this is not a minor one, but this is a complete lack of online gaming capability by the Ps3 owners.
I paid $ 104 (DKR 499 the US currency is ridiculusly low, that's why the price is so high) and I expect a game that works.

And especially with a console, I always thought that console games were more tested and more stabile than PC ones, because they are harder to patch.

But this is ridiculus.
All I want is an approx. time it will take before Ubi has a patch ready.

Grow up your self, i allready play 12 years online and i never experienced this. Besides they make the same faults everytime. Nah mate you have to grown up and open your eyes. Their rubish, if they continue like this then they loose their market place. I will not buy anymore games with the ubisoft label. And i know a lot of people that follow my opinion. I truly admire your courage and support for UBI and their masterpiece release in R6V2. With that said, what makes you think that you were the only fan of this series?

Yes, we are very upset. I think by now, we are all aware that this game was not ready to be released. People can't play online, they completely changed the online RANKED play; which I strongly believe was the ONLY REASON why people purchased this game.

Even though the first R6V had a few things that needed work, all of us loved to play online. Now, you can't even see who is hosting a RANKED match, which makes it "Almost" impossible to play with your team.

Limited respawns (2!) 5-10 minute matches? horrible connectivity? and the list goes on.


As I said earlier, I admire your desire to defend ubi, but they dropped the ball on what once was an outstanding game.

I bet you ubi was not complaining when everybody was dropping 65 bucks a pop to buy this game ha?

The only real complaint i have is with host settings, I should be able to set a countdown timer and auto change maps after a certain amount of rounds.

post this in the complaint topic at the top of the boards and we wouldn't have this problem. I play the 360 version, so far it's run perfectly for me. Also if most of these topics would clarify which version it's being played on by the Original Poster there wouldn't be any confusion. But no, the "noobs" don't seem to understand or care.

Because of your attitude about it being ok to release a game that is not complete, it will happen again. Ill stop complaining when they fix the damn problem! They should have gotten all the bugs and junk worked out completely before putting this out onto the market. I really like this game, but the online problems should be dealt with right away, if they plan to make this game a success. you are one of those people who see things in black or white so the game is 100% win or 100% fail i have over 1000 some hours on Rbs for old xbox and 400+ on RB:v so you can say i like the series but this game is just trash they threw this mess together in a matter of a month and released it none of the maps are new there all ripped from older games

ONE mistake? They haven't made just ONE mistake. It is a series of mistakes over time which has caused many people to be very upset. And to take the ONE module of software, the ONE module, that should not have changed that much and royally screw it up, is beyond comprehension.

I'll say it "I LOVE THE GAME", but "100 Atta boys are cancelled by ONE Aw ****". That's reality. They had a chance to atone for RSV 1.0. but they totally blew it with the online failure. I think they did a great job in the single player, and the tools of the online. But if I can't connect to any games, or friends, then the game is useless.

We have, to date (5 days Now), ONE forum posting, from a Forum Manager, in the UK, and that's it. That's all we got, OFFICIALLY, from the Ubisoft Corporation. Mean while the game is still being sold, and it is still broken.

Stop complaining? I say "Complain All you want", we have the right to complain, since we've been screwed again by Ubisoft. I suggest everyone file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (Consumer Protection Agency)http://ftc.gov. Let the Federal Government deal with them, and faulty product they sold, and keep selling, at $60.00 a game.

Yeah...Because obviously changing the most popular mode from the last game and turning into Survival shouldn't piss any one off...And if it does, they surely shouldn't say anything about it.

This game sucks. It not just the online play, it's the graphics & smoothness of the control. Thank goodness I rented this game on Friday from Blockbuster before purchasing. This is quite a disappoinment in every sense of the word. Like I stated previously I rented this game on Friday and I'm taking it back today. How did they fix the terroist hunt? Also the AI is still pretty stupid. Graphics arent really better and how is the gameplay smoother?

Actually Halo and the Cod games actually did feel like actual sequels and they did change things. So I wouldnt compare those games to rainbow six vegas which didnt really change much at all in rsv2.

If I had the ps3 version and I couldnt play online I would be very upset. Some people buy the game just for the online play you know. Thats ridiculous that the online is unplayable.

I also think only having limited respawns is stupid especially for ranked deathmatch games. If you happen to die in the beginning what is the point of sticking around since in ranked matches you only play one round and then go back to the lobby. No or limited respawns are ok in player matches because at least if I die im waiting for the next round to start. What was the point of putting sharpshooter and survival together? Also they mislead people by putting co-op 2-4 and co-op 2-10 on the box. Alot of glitches carried over from the first game. So I think people actually do have the right to complain.

Is not an excuse to have Online not working properly! i mean that is 1 of the biggest thing in games right now! and they shoulda run a test? and they know ps3 rb6 1 online was kinda **** and how come they dindt fix it in rb6 2? infact they made it worse! are they just trying to hurry up and release the game early so they can earn alot of money since they know when mgs4 and gta4 comes out they wont have and customer to buy there product!

Yeah, its similar to Vegas 1, but all "2"s are. COD 2-COD3, TimeSplitters 2-TS-3, Halo 1-Halo 2, etc etc etc etc. How different are they? Not much. It was obvious it was going to be a better Vegas 1.


So on to the horrible problem. Yeah, online play is practically impossible, and the friends menu freezes a lot, etc etc, I know, Im mad about it to. Lets not bash everything Ubisoft has done because they made one mistake. They ARE going to fix it, they couldnt get away with not.
Now, if its two months later and were still not playing, THEN COMPLAIN!! Give them a week, okay? Call them up, email them, do whatever, dont be immature.



And if no unlimited respawns in Attack and Defend and no dead-person Voice hurts you that much, maybe you need to stop buying games and buy a violin. Grow up. THANK YOU SO MUCH someone finally agrees with me on the complaining issue

man i just want the online fixxed thats it, i love the game i have been a loyal fan since like what the original titles for the ps1 i read the books, ubi dont mess it up, just fix the problem or tell us the problem at least give us that, dont just make us all look ******ed here by posting on thse forums and literally talk to a wall, so pls put out a forum notice we are working on a patch right now or at least tell me the reason for the damn problem at least give us that.

I wouldn't have to complain if the game wasn't freezing up constantly. I can't even play single player for 45 min. without my 360 freezing up. I have no problems playing online.(8mb connection). My problem is with single player, story or terrorist hunt. My xbox freezes up 3 times before I can play more than 45 min. at a time. This is the only game that does this. Anyone else having the same issue?

Uh, it's going on two months now?! Plus, some of us actually have jobs and can't play all day, so when we come home from work and have only a few hours to play, it would be nice to log on and play online right away. So quite kissing Ubi-butt. They put out a bad product.

the whole point of this game is to finish the vegas storyline. they kept most things the same because they worked in the first one, people liked it so they kept it. Theres only so much you can do with Vegas, just let them prepare for a new, better rainbow six. If you are a fan of rainbow six you will look past faults and deal with it, you may not like the game, but not everything comes how you want it. Also people need to shut the hell up about unlimited respawns, back in the old rainbow six games like raven shield there werent any

Oh, it is quite obvious the devs aren't making the game for R6 fans, after all, everything that made the series great was taken out. It's also obvious that they aren't making the game for PC gamers, as there is very little info available on the game that hasn't been recycled from the consoles, no pics, no videos, Nada. It's obvious the game isn't designed for PS3 owners, who can't even get online. It's obvious the game isn't designed for 360 owners because the game actually crashes the console for many people, plus the game is bugged. It's obvious the game isn't designed for clans because there is no proper matching tools, and very limited coop play. Sounds to me like the opposite is true from your statement. Vegas 2 isn't being designed to please anyone except the devs, and if that is the case, how can we expect anything to improve, as they already released the game that the devs wanted to, fixed the issues the devs wanted to, included the maps they wanted to create and play on. The rest of us be damned, we only provide the money that allows them to make the game, nobody special.
