Jumping off balcony to the drainpipe before going to the cook's window is proving to be impossible. Not physically impossible, but the alarms go off as you shimmy the drain pipe. You cannot shimmy further than the third or fourth section of the pipe before alarms end the attempt to get to window. I've read four guides and all never mention anything difficult, or alarming. What gives?

Ah yes. You're encountering a problem that many people new to splinter cell have. The problem is that not all of your bodies are hidden well enough. Go back and make sure all bodies are completely hidden in shadows. It doesn't matter if no one is left conscious, the the game automatically does a "sweep" of the last area you left to see if any bodies are exposed.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

And be warned, this will plague you through ALL the Splinter Cell games, SC1, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. I've yet to play Double Agent, but you can be sure it will factor into that game also!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Not Chaos Theory. Just SC1 and SCPT.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

In my excitement I forgot that Chaos Theory doesn't have the "body check", but instead if a body is found you lose points in your final mission ratings, so it's still VERY important to hide bodies where they won't be found - or better yet, go full stealth and you won't have any bodies to worry about!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
