The Tangmere Pilots (TPs) have been in existance for over three years now and currently have three squadrons:No1,No601 and No145 and 33 members, personally i have been with them for three years,(which i believe is a measure of how much i personally enjoy it)! and the large majority of our members(apart from the new chaps) have been with us over 18 months.

Now due to Real life commiments we have a few vacancies.

If you like historically based missions and can commit to a Tuesday and/or Friday but more importantly every Sunday and like to fly RAF types then please drop by our website.

http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/

Tuesday we train in our squadrons 20:00-22:00
Fridays we fly all together "en masse" 20:00-till late and sundays we fly our career mission at 21:00

We also run a COD server and also participate in BF2 and Falcon4(these are "out of hours games" and not a requirement)
We also own our own ventrillo server.

We prefer European applicants but we do have several USA based members who can attend our hours.

Our current nationaltiy list includes:

UK
USA
Ukraine
Belgium (Our training officer)
French
Philipino
Italian
Rhodesian
Grand Caymanian

See you in the air somewhere???

Shabba!

The louder you scream, the faster the ride at RAF Tangmere.

btw. I am one of the U.S. members and manage to join in on the fun without too much trouble.

What nationality is BB's bat man?
I've heard your screams Hatter and do not fear, I've recommended you be transfered to a Gladrag squadron. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

FREE BEER! WHERE!

I hope you don't mean Moggy's home brew. I've been using that to clean the bath!

Free beer! I say chaps, jolly good show.

Just passed out from basic flight training and am looking for a posting. I shall drop a line to the wing to see if I can get posted to Tangmere rather than some god forsaken 13 group squadron miles from the battle.

Cheers
Stuntie.

Good luck Stuntie, remember things could be worse...you could be posted to 145 or 601! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

How do you actually apply, I couldn't see any application forms on the site, or any recruitment area of the website?

Also what do you fly?
Is it just Hurricanes?

Cheers
Stuntie.

Unfortunately Bunny has escaped and gnawed his way through a few cables and as a result we're having a few issues with the website. Our forum is still working and you'll be able to post in the guest forum, you can find it here; http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/forum/
Tigertooo is our recruitment chappie and he'll point you in the right direction if you're interested.
As to our aircraft, we''re currently flying in our Burma campaign. Spitfire VIII's and Hurribus II C's are our current mounts at the moment but we have flown a few others.

Gosh these cables are very moreish you know!

Please try and get signed up Stuntie, it will be the best thing you've done in a while. Fun, frolics and the infamous 601 initiation ceremony awaits!

Hiya,

I'm in the process of trying to both..

A) Sign up
B)Avoid anyone from 601sqn that looks like they might be in an 'initiation' atack mode.

It's a very anal squad with little humour. If that's your thing, go for it. Good teamwork, though. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Oh dear, someone who didnt make the cut doesnt like us http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

If we were anal and had no humour i dont think we would still be around and going strong for over 5 years now. Anyway i am sure anyone who wants to join us is more than capable of making up their own mind about what kind of squad and people we are. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Nice to hear from you again though Bulldog http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Just because we didnt appreciate your sick sense of humour does not make us anal-you didnt fit in, simple as that. Other Sqads beware!

The Tangmere Pilots-5 years and going stronger than ever!!

Come on Jay! It was the best anal fun you ever had! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

I don't see how you can accuse TP of having little humour. It may have too much dark, British toilet humour but that's another issue.

Stuntie: Don't worry about the 601 initiation ceremony. The wounds will heal and you'll be able to sit again after 2 weeks. It worth it because you then get to fly with the most potent fighter squadron in the group.

We would invite anyone looking for a mature, grown up squadron to come and fly with us on a Friday night. If you like us then you can join T.P and never look back.

Just for the record, Trinity AKA Bulldog left Tangmere Pilots in early January.

Can I just say that I love everybody and I wish for peace and prosperity all over the world. I even love Bulldog and feel that he perhaps did not appreciate us for what we are, and not what he wanted us to be.

I feel that I properly express the 601 ethos of careful consideration and kindness extended to all of our fellow pilots in the virtual sky. I especially want to extend the hand of love to my fellow pilots in No1, 43 and 145 squadrons.

With love,

F/Lt Tom
X/O 601 Squadron

Ahhh, you crazy guys. You mob were the best thing actually and made it fun. BUT, there was huge, gaping ANAL element to it: a certain someone who lacks social skills. But that's another story, eh?

I admit that the other squads were dipped in liquid humour where mine, alas, was... dry as a bleached bone left out in the sun for years.

See you guys in the sky! Watch out for my 109 G-2!

Bulldog

PS: Chaps: why not join us for a friendly mission(s) with the CPS boys? They're a great bunch and it'll be fun. Tell the miserable sod to sling his hook for an hour or two.

Never look back? That's the 145 motto isn't it, or is it just for after a few drinks?

We are all constantly having to look back when a 601 pilot is behind us Tom old boy . . . you know the drill, when 601 is about everyone has to keep their bums to the wall http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

Bulldog, glad you found a squad you enjoy old bean http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hello Bulldog,

Think you'll find you're in a minority of one with your views on the Wingco.

30-odd blokes back at Tangmere say different.

One word: No need

(I know, I know)

lots of love

Hey Mothy,

Yeah, I had an ex-divorce party the other week: she's dead.

I raise my glass...

Watch that 109 G-2 without "god mode"!

Jay

DeerHunterUK
07-09-2007, 04:26 AM
Yes I'd definitely look out for those 109s, they look awfully like Spitfire V's and Grumman Martlets from 100 yards away!
Still if we had aircraft padlocking on, any idiot would be able to tell the difference between friend and foe wouldn't they?

Trinity_Jay

ANAL.

Ta raaaaa!

Come on, fight us CPS boys. Up for it or not? No padlock, no godmode. Just cockpit.

What's not to like?

We have our hands full fighting full real versus II/JG54&NB , a great bunch of blokes who fly with dignity and act in a very honourable fashion and know how to behave correctly in other peoples houses.

"...very honourable fashion and know how to behave correctly in other peoples houses."

You mean, like a boarding school? Come on Mothy, CPS are a great bunch of guys who enjoy life. Or is the threat of being shot down too much? Perhaps we'll see you tonight!
