I have wondered for some time now how many people are still visiting the SH3 forum, so...
Please vote AND make a small comment about whatever you want, so we know who still visit this place. Thanks...

I voted for every day. I hardly go to the SHIV forum as I don't play the game any more, my interest still lies with SHIII and the Battle of the Atlantic - to be honest I think it was a far more interesting battle to learn about, maybe because a lot less is known about the US submarine war over here in Europe.

Edit

I forgot to add, it's my homepage, and has been for nearly 2 years http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I go here first on a daily basis but as of late have been visiting the SH4 side (even though I dont have the game) because our U boat side is kind of empty

Every day. All Day. But it's my job to I suppose! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Seriously, I try to divide my time between the two. Both forum's are always open on my desktop. Even if I wasn't a Moderator I would always come here - it's my spiritual home!

I clicked 2 X/week as that has been close to the truth, sometimes more often, and of late more like 3 to 4 X/week.
I have SHIV, but a friend is using my better Vid Card while I finish a career in SHIII.
I'll probably have a better SHIV expierience later on as doubtless some patches and mods will have solved the SHIV troubles by that time. At present, I can only get patrol time once or twice a week so getting through the war is almost a realtime deal right now.
I started out playing Silent Hunter II, an old DOS game about 93 or 94, then got into SH Commanders Edition and was wowed by the improvements. Wolfpac would not give me sounds and a new sound card was not a possibility at the time and not pressing since I had and was playing SSII. Aces of the Deep wouldn't run on the PC that I had later when I got the game, but again, as I was very into SH1 at the time this was no huge deal.
After lightning strikes, new boards and chipsets, etc etc I now have (with the help of a brother in Law thats pretty program sharp) an XP machine with SHI(DOS Box), SHII, SHII Pacific Aces Mod, SHIII and SHIV all installed and all playable once I swap the better video card back into her.
I do not play any other games, playstations, nintendo etc. My gameing is all Silent Hunter, and except for a brief WWI dogfight Sim, always has been.
My brother in law is now totally infected and has shelves full of books he has read on subs and is now playing carrers in SHI, SHIII, SHIV and Command AOD having played a campaign through in SHII. He has tried WAC, GWX and several other mods, far surpassing my efforts to date even though I've been playing over 10 years now.
And my wife hasn't threatened to leave me or throw me out yet either .... well there was that one thing she said, but I'm pretty sure she was kidding.... right?
Later guys

Every day!
I like the topic (U-Boats), the guys and gals, the invaluable information, OT topics and just as a place to chill with guys who are a whole lot smarter than me!

Hey my friend, I prefer UBI SH3 Forum over SS, I only go there for the "Goodies". But as far as on a daily basis, this forum takes the cake. You have been here long enough to know, everyone here is genuine and nice(as I feel about you), and SS has it's nice people, but some are not as friendly as I would like to see. I consider you and 95% of everyone here kind of like family, and that's no joke.

I feel a little silly spilling my guts out like this, but I mean what I say, and I hope all nubes read this and realize they have joined the best Forum EVER. If it weren't for the people here, no matter what Country they come from, they make me feel at home here. This forum makes this big world seem much smaller, and folks like Deepbluewolf are perfect examples of this, he seemed too have no descrimination(spelling) against anyone, and that says a lot about this whole Forum. I would have left a long time ago if it werent for people such as yourself, giving your hard work , time, and effort to make this "Game" much more than it is.

You Carotio, are a true friend, and as are most everyone on this Forum, and in my opinoin, this is the best and most friendliest Forum around.

I hope to speak for most members by saying this, such as U-301's remarks, this Forum shall stay active as long as good people exist.

Probably closer to every day, but I chose 5 times per week. There are some people who still visit just this forum, and not SH4, so I find different topics on both forums, which I visit frequently and equally.

Oh, and the people are the main reason I'm here, of course! Wonderful group. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

One more thing... This forum (SH3) is the one I have bookmarked, so I always end up checking it first!

The Ruptured Duck (U-150) still prefers to swim in Atlantic Waters:

....And it's lucky for all you "Sunshine Boys" that she does! ........If we ever decided to visit the Pacific, we'd have your little problem with the Japanese cleared up long before you have a chance to figure out how to make a MK14 go BANG!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

13 people wrote in this thread, 19 voted...

So the six of you who didn't wrote anything, and others too:

Why do you come here often or why not?
That was the main reason for me wanting you to write a reply...
And to have the man/woman count too: how many and who?
So?

PS: @Todd thanks for the words!

I come here because I have found it to be an excellent forum.

I only started this year with SH3, having played the original silent hunter game when it first came out. Then a nasty divorce, with me losing everything but my shirt, meant that I was away from the computer 'scene' for quite a while.

Now happily remarried and with a half decent computer, (Not good enough to run Sh4), I found SH3 earlier in the year and now play three versions, Sh3, WAC and GWX.

I now come to the forum to see all the other little 'OT' posts that are about to try and better educate myself in the 'Uboat' world.

Also a great place to just come and chat and read other posts about others' patrols.

Will I come back.....everyday at least twice a day.

Why......friendly people and mounds of info.

Why......because if I can I will try and help out 'noobs' as I was when I first arrived.

Why......Yes it is a 'Cyberspace' family and a pleasure to be a member of.

LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.

Maverick....

I am here everyday... and Tuddley... That was touching ! But... I know you and know the good soul you are so it is not suprising at all. I check in at SubSim but they spend more time kickin each others a**s over there and being nasty than anything else. And though it seems like there is fewer of us here more often... I will take quality of people over quantity anyday.

Yep, there's a lot of good blokes here! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

(shame most of the women have all run away!).

Every day, many of us come here to share useful/interesting/helpful/funny/sad stuff with each other.

I would struggle to list all of the stuff I've learned and laughed at in this forum - there's been so much over the years.

Long may it continue! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I come here every day to catch up on the latest but, most importantly, to see if there is any new info from Doug on his wife Terry. What they have gone through this last year is amazing.

I agree with what everyone has said. It is the friendliest forums around. I try to visit everyday but that doesn't always workout. Why do I visit, "because we like you" (Mickey Mouse Club). This is a very informative forum and I enjoy most everything that is said and can get emotional at times. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif I visit these forums because it is the one place that I can come to and be able to talk about submarines in WW2 and not have people think I'm strange because of it.

I check in on the SH3 and SH4 forums several times everyday during the week while I'm at work. I sometimes check in during the weekend...If I can catch any internet time at the house (fighting for a connection with everyone else in the house gets to be a pain...durned dial-up).

I mostly swing by on saturdays and sundays, mainly because I am to busy at work during weekdays. But in the weekends it is still SH3-time. And visiting this great and friendly forum is a part of that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I like lists, so in order:

- I'm bored at work and sneak a peak!
- It is a place filled with people who appreciate the technology of war...it's really hard to find friends like that, so this is the place.
- It is a place filled with respectful, intelligent people from many different nations. It is a good place to gain an understanding of other nations opinions
- We are all good natured and seem to understand each others jibes. The rolling jokes and schemes around here are hilarious.
- Gives me a chance to remember my time in Germany with the slightly younger CELEON, as we both essentially grew up on opposite sides of the Iron Curtain. CELEON has become my tie to what I left behind in Germany, he keeps me abreast of current events, etc. (Along with my two German sisters-in-laws).
- I still play SHIII, stripped (unmodded) almost everyday. Right now my experiment is to take a IID all the way through the end of the war, buying all the system upgrades!

i usually pop by briefly every day if I can. I must admit I don't really post that often and haven't had much time to play the game in recent months, but I've got to say that this is the most friendly, helpful and informative forum I have ever visited.

I wasn't going to post, but someone asked.

There wasn't a once a month choice... so I put twice a month. This month I actually have visited 3 times. That's outta the ordinary.

I use to be a daily poster... you all know why I've drifted. No need to rehash it here.

There is one other factor though, they firewalled the Ubi forums at the office so I can only access it in the evenings. That's kinda disappointing... what's odd is I can read the forums, just can't login, the login is firewalled for some reason?
