RUSE coming Winter 2009? Release date info?

Looking on Steam and I see the game listed with "Winter 2009" on there.
Stands out as odd since you don't pre-order on Steam. Amazon has 3/31/2010, Gamestop has 2/2/2010, but they take pre-orders.
All I've ever heard is 2010. Could the PC version be coming out sooner?

Ya I guess it's possible - all the videos we've seen so far have been PC demos so maybe they aren't as far with the console versions

And Bruce, if it's primarily a PC game and they are porting it to consoles then it might.

That was designed for consoles though. Games like C&C are done for PC and then ported to console, which is why the controls are generally crap.

they've said that RUSE is being designed for both Consoles and PC in mind, so to me it doesnt sound like any version will be a complete port as its being designed with both in mind. Rather then it being designed for one and being completely ported over because they think it could work.

As much as I really would love to play the game now I can definately wait for the developers to spend the time needed to develop and polish R.U.S.E to hopefully become one of the great games in the RTS genre.

True but they souldnt take too long. After all they are profesional game dev and if they havnt been able too get the game polished(or close to polished) by now then they should consider a different profesion...by now they should only be fine tunning the game and after beta make the few final adjustments to make the game perfect... coz lets face it if they wait too long... by the time they are ready to release the game there might be a better game down the road...

But if there are multiple problems found with the game, or most people dont like it, i would much rather then take the time to make it better and have to wait that extra time (regardless of how long it takes) to get a fantastic game.

Also according to the new interview thing (the Atomic one) it says that the predicted release date is around March 2010

Its been mentioned in previews they were not actually using a console build. All they did was just plug a USB X-Box 360 controller in to the PC they were running the game on, since obviously it easier to demo a game standing up with a 360 controller then a mouse and keyboard.

I'll go dig up the specific previews which mention it if you really want me to.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I agree the old conventional way of playing strategy games is easier for beginers through to experienced players but once you mastered console controlers it can be just as effective as a mouse and keyboard...I also prefer console controlers in FPS because its harder to shoot some one in the head every time making it a bit more realistic...Iv played pc fps games where some one takes you out from a mile away, with console controlers you have to be prety good to be able to shoot that accurate.
